0-82 = still possible!
woot!
great post as usual....
I know people are thinking the Jazz have a shot at a win in Boston but this isn't a sure thing. Teams are just going to pack the paint and dare our guards to make shots. Which doesn't make me too confident the Jazz can win in Boston.
Rush wasn't ready to play even though he tried to play. Dude is not even in church ball shape.
My observations regarding last night's debacle:
It is painfully obvious that the Jazz have zero shooters outside of Hayward and Kanter. I have never seen a team miss so many wide open shots.
It is painfully obvious that Kanter/Favors are both PFs and were being dominated by Lopez.
I thought Gobert, Hayward, Burks and Kanter tried hard.
Burks plays out of control but is still our best option at PG.
It is painfully obvious that Jazz need shooters and/or guys who can make plays when the offense breaks down.
It is obvious that our defense was bad last night.
It is painfully obvious that our bench sucks. Rush is not even close to being ready to contribute and M. Harris is playing too much.
It is obvious that Gobert needs to put on weight and gain strength but he is already one of my favorite Jazzman because he is busting his butt on the court. He gets no respect from the refs at all.
It is extremely painful to watch Lucas and Tinsley play the PG. BUrks should be the staring PG until BUrke gets back.
I think Favors was overpaid and last night showed it. I just don't think he will ever be a great offensive player. Kanter needs to get in better shape and both of them need to get stronger. They were pushed around a lot last night and not just by Lopez.
I am hoping the Jazz get two shooters in this draft. Guys who can create their own shots. Not just slashing or dunking but two players who can stroke the basketball.
It is painfully obvious that the Jazz are a long way from being a contender and I need to adjust my win total to around 20 wins instead of the 28-34 I originally predicted.
As much as I like Hayward having the ball in his hands, I think it overall hurts his game because the best part of his game is his spot up shooting.

Please advise on example.

Ty gets an F- for last night, for one major reason, not the loss or poor showing. The TV guys said that they Jazz made the decision to put Kanter on Lopez early on the keep Favors out of foul trouble.
Dumb. Really dumb:
1. The Jazz just signed Favors to a long term contract on the basis that he is their stud in defense. So then you protect him on defense? WT*?
2. Its the year of discovery, lets see what he can do rather than determine ahead of time that he will get in foul trouble.
3. It is also the year and time of discovery for Favors, for him to learn how to defend guys like Lopez.
4. And then he only plays 24 minutes. And Lopez dominated.
Great work Ty.
Agree mostly. Did not really seem like Favors came out to play last night though. I guess Kanter must be expendable then with Ty. Favors should be guarding most centers in the league. I just hope Favors does not start to get a little lazy with his new contract.

You forgot to say it is extremely painful to watch try and coach this team.
