What's new

Freaking awesome Game thread for Jazz @ Celtics!

28pts, 12/20 fg%, 9 reb, 5 assists, 2 turn overs.

That's a pretty good game, now he's not averaging that, but it's still very solid. The thing is too, he gave some guys really good looks, but they just missed their shots.

Yeah, I think Hayward is shaping up to be a 2nd-tier star, like Joe Johnson or Rip Hamilton.

I thought that Favors let the refs get in his head, started last night and after a few no calls and cheap fouls on him it was down hill from there. Favors needs to and I believe will get mentally stronger this year, first refs, second playing on the road and third playing tired like tonight 4th game in 5 nights, not easy but just have to have that mentality and tonight and last night he did not have it for sure.

He is averaging 20,5 & 5 roughly. Damn good

Kanter is at 20 & 10 roughly.

well this game was better than the Nets game. we started out very strong, then completely sucked, then finished strong.

Hayward looked like an all-star at times. very impressive in the 1st and 4th Qts.

Burks had a nice little run in the 4th, but had a slew of costly turnovers. he'll clean it up don't worry.

ian clark brah. you're wide open. someone tell him its still summer league

Kanter has been averaging great stats on great shooting.

But...

where are his post moves? His defensive rebounding? His footwork? His motor?

Fatigue in my opinion. Him and Favors. I think they are both having conditioning issues. Kanter seems to play harder on offense to conserve energy. Favors on defense. Until they are use to playing 5 games in 7 nights. They are both going to show rust. IMO anyway.

I just hope it is a momentary mental weakness by Favors and Kanter and not bad losing habits settling in, that's where leadership and coaching will have to come in play.

Jefferson defensively has been disappointing for sure, I hope players heal up soon so they can take his minutes.

Oh yeah and TO's is still a MAJOR issue for everybody on the team.

The scary part is that Jefferson won't be losing his minutes. Bye bye Burks.

Hayward needs some help out there. Too much pressure on him. Played like an All-Star against a coach who knows him well.

Kanter is excellent offensively. Just needs to get better defensively. 0 TOs is impressing.

Burks is erratic.

Favors had good rebounding and some blocks to show but played bad overall. Needs to assert himself more.

Keep Clark in there. At the very least he is unknown and confuses opponents.

The impression I got watching the Brooklyn game yesterday is that the Jazz were playing 4 on 5, or in some cases 3 on 5. There are a couple of guys who can't really contribute on either side of the court.

The Jazz are scoring the lowest avg. point total in the league, next to the Celtics who just beat us. The Jazz can't seem to muster enough points to win, even though they rebound and generally defend well enough.

Must be the 0-6 shooting that spaces the floor.

For the record shooting isn't my concern with him and he's defensively better just passing, mental and positioning mistakes. During the games I do ask for Ian Clark, especially after seeing Tinsley shoot or Lucas but after the game I realize most of the time it wouldn't help the Jazz win as he'll just make different mistakes and issues to help the Jazz have the worst PG group in the NBA.
