Ty is "old school" rigid to a fault:Me as well. I would ask him who "we" is. The players? The coaches? If it is the players then the coaches need to reign them in. If it is the coaches then is shows poor, or at least the wrong, in game adjustments.
1. He has a bunch of young players who mentally check in and out of games at random, yet he sticks with rigid substitutions early. I understand the advantages of having players who know their role (and thus can get comfortable in it), but this doesn't seem to be the way to maximize wins OR teaching moments for this roster. If a young player is engaged, reward him and let him play, and when he's tired/loses focus, pull him out and give him a pat on the back. If a young player is sleep walking, pull his *** out of the game, and let him know that his play is unacceptable.
2. Sticking with placeholder point guards until Trey is healthy. Even though Ian couldn't hit a shot last night, I hope Ty goes back to the 2 guard lineup with him and Burks in the coming games.
