Not from what I am seeing this game. He got beat three straight possessions because his legs were straight up and down. No defensive stance.

He needs to work on it, but he has the height and wingspan to be a good defender.

Kanter is terrible on defense

The "matador" Kanter is becoming Big Al without defensive boards. It's just disappointing how he regressed on the defensive side. His losing pounds prevent him to get the defensive boards, pushed easily around. His lateral quickness is mediocre at best so he needs to give more spacing not to get passed by dribbling and that increases percentage for the opponent. He still really does not know when to help or stay with his man. It's for sure somebody's gotta teach him how to defend. It's his 3rd year and he still makes same mistakes.

It doesn't surprise me that the Jazz would lose this game. Lowry, DeRozan, Gay, Valanciunas, etc. are good players.

I said at the start of the season that I didn't think many of you realized how truly bad this team is.

I think it's starting to register now. And yes, lack of talent plays a part, but they shouldn't suck THIS much. They just play really stupid. Coaching, as has been the status quo for the past few years, is as big a problem as any.
