Cutting into a huge lead is not impressive unless you actually win.

It's better then not trying and losing by 40.

It's far from an encouraging sign. It's not as if the Jazz were really just 5 points away (or 10) from getting a win. In basketball teams do what they need to do to win. Few teams press for the 40 point win. They're cool with winning by 10.

Coming from behind is only good in sex and gay sex.

Disagree completely.

If we're a playoff team, absolutely nt impressive at all.

As a team that looked like they collectively wanted to curl up into a ball and cry, definitely an encouraging sign that some of our guys have a measure of resolve.

Glad we cleared that up.

Disagree utterly.

Glad to muck things up again.

It's not impressive, it is just gives us a small thread of hope. And when you have no victories, you have to savor the moral victories. Please stop squashing a few iotas of happiness in Jazzfanz's lives!

Agreed. Sometimes it just shows that the other team did not care anymore. They were up 28 in the 2nd Q and knew they could put the peddle to the metal at any time.

For this very reason, if you are going to measure competitiveness by score differential, it should use scores at the end of each quarter. If you lose by 10 but were leading at the end of the first 3 quarters, you were competitive. If you lose by 10 at the end but were behind at the end of the other quarters by an average of 20 to 30, then you were not competitive. Jazz have been getting behind in the first half by >20 almost every game, not competing at all.

This reminds me of my kids game last week. I was sitting next to the opposing teams parents in the stands and could hear some of their conversations. My kids team had the game won in the 2nd quarter. The coach put the 8-13th player off the bench in the game for half the 3rd and all of the 4th quarter. They got our lead down to about 8 points by the end. The other teams parents were so excited that their team "made a game out of it" and "got it close by the end". When in reality if the starters would have stayed in the game it would have been a 50 point lose for them.
