14th Tank Platoon

Neither the Knicks nor the Nets are motivated to tank this year, since they traded their picks. The funny thing about the Eastern Conference is that teams with bad records are still in the playoff hunt. Even Milwaukee is only 3 games out by record, believe it or not. It might motivate a few teams to put off tanking an extra 10 games or so.

I wonder if the Jazz will trade out Marvin Williams at the deadline, or if they'll let him expire. He could be a guy that would factor in for a playoff team. Decent defense and hits some open shots.

Yeah, a playoff team looking for that final piece could be enticed by his strong showing as of late. And whether he pans out or not the way that team hopes, he's still a fair sized expiring contract that will give them cap space to sign someone better in a loaded free agent class.

Marvin's trade value is pretty decent right now, imo.

Marv could help a team like San Antonio or even Miami.

Honestly I could see him going to Charlotte for a future draft pick and maybe a young guy. That franchise is in a must make the playoffs situation after signing Bid Al. They sacrificed a top pick in next years draft for wins now. I would take a bobcats future draft pick for Marvin in a heart beat. They will be lotto bound again very soon.

Burke is really the guy who's ruining our tank ATM.

2 out of 3 games now that he has come up BIG and LATE to help clinch the WIN.

I want him to do well but Ty needs to suck a little more for us to be successful here.

Just like I predicted. That's why I wanted to lose every single game till he came back. At least we came close.

Someone injure Burke then have him swing by Curry's place immediately afterward.

I'm fine with burke over achieving. Not Jefferson and Marvin though. Just need to trade those two for garbage/injured players.

We should start
1-Burke
2-Hayward
3-Kanter
4-Favors
5-Gobert

That oughta do it

Absolutely.

NO to trading Marvin. He was born to be a Jazzman.
We won a game against Phoenix.
We won a game against a depleted Bulls at home. Still plenty of ball to play Gais.

IMO, Marvin Williams is a great stretch 4 guy off the bench. He's not a starter at either 3 or 4, but the kind of depth player that a good bench needs. With that said, I don't want the Jazz to overpay to keep him. He's not a critical piece of the team moving forward. If they can get a quality pick or young player at the trade deadline for him. . . they should absolutely do it. Especially since there's a decent chance that a team will pick him up for a late run and his expiring contact. There's nothing to stop the Jazz from signing him back once he hits free agency if the price is right.

An ideal situation would be to land a something of value for him and Jefferson, finish the tank strong and then resign Marvin as depth for next year.
