Is Aaron Gordon really the next Blake Griffin? He's a very unique player, similar to BG, but I don't think he can be as good as him.
Chad Ford (1:43 PM)

He's not as big as Blake. That's why he's trying to make the transition to small forward. I think the better comp is Andrei Kirilenko. I actually thin Gordon, right now, is a better, more committed defender than Griffin is or ever was. Griffin was more gifted offensively. The comp is more because they are both such powerful athletes. But they're different and I think Gordon goes somewhere between 6 and 8 on draft night.

From Chad Ford's espn chat

Dang, could you imagine a prime Kirilenko with this Jazz team? They would sure be entertaining. I will certainly be disappointed if the Jazz do not get a top 5 pick, but the picks from 6-10 are pretty decent as well.

I'm still not convinced he can play SF, and I think he's a much more explosive athlete (on Griffin's level) than AK. I really don't think the comparison is that great.

fwiw, I was never convinced that AK was a small forward either.

If I was Gordon, I'd focus on making my body bigger to become a true PF like Griffin. I think that's a much more realistic path for him than developing the skills a SF in today's NBA typically needs to succeed.

I like Stauskas a lot. Perfect 2 guard size, great shooter, and much improved ball-handler from last season.

Lavine seems like a taller Burks. He'll get attacked on defense every possession if he receives significant minutes.

Stauskas is the best player in the Big 10. I would love to have him on this team, but I probably wouldn't take him with our pick (if it's early).

I just think everybody is overrating LaVine. I haven't seen much of a midrange game on him, he basically either dunks or shoot 3's, he's skinny as hell, and doesn't even start for UCLA. Plus, this isn't Howland's UCLA where they played the worst offense in the freaking world. I think LaVine is a fine player, but he's not even an option at where we're supposed to be drafting.
