Following potential 2014 draftees

I think the Jazz should be safely in the top eight.

Although I'm not one of those guys who's cheering for losses and tanking hard, I would be furious if the Jazz were not in the top eight.

I like Stauskas a lot. Perfect 2 guard size, great shooter, and much improved ball-handler from last season.

Lavine seems like a taller Burks. He'll get attacked on defense every possession if he receives significant minutes.

And his family is from Lithuania!

So to come up with a comp for Aaron Gordon, if he's an athletic 6'9" defensive-minded combo-forward with limited shooting touch and perimeter skills, that would make him similar to... Josh Smith? ...Thad Young?

Some people pointed out that the 6'9 may have been a hoax measurement and he's closer to 6'7/6'8 in shoes. I don't see too much Thad Young in him.

A non-knucklehead version of Josh Smith would be a real asset.

*non jump shooting version. Good luck with that. OK Detroit wants him to jumpshoot. #winning

What would you like me to shoot you with?

Just in case.

Oww and I nearly forgot. Since nbadraft.net was the first to mock Embiid at #1, I decided to read that site for once. Found a nice feature. Commented mock draft. Please stop reading after 6 or you'll get deeply angry, disappointed or entertained. Depending on your personality.

Peeks, who would you say has more potential between Davis and Embiid?

I think I feel the same that pretty much everyone else does.. that Embiid has the higher ceiling, but Davis is already the real deal badass.
If Davis were in this draft I'd take him before Embiid, because he's a clear #1 pick... even knowing Embiid's ceiling is higher.

Square bidness.

I am very Ignorant, but what is the difference between McDermott and jimmer?

Oh, I don't know, about 7 inches and 40 lbs. Also, Jimmer is shooting 51% 3pt (best in the league), 45% FGs, 93% FTs and has a PER of 16. A 6'9" version of Jimmer could be pretty damn good.

Perhaps the better question is - what's the difference between Ryan Anderson and Doug McDermott?

All Anderson doing, is getting his team 20 ppg and a PER of 19. If anything, McDermott has proven to be a better pure scorer rather than just a big guy who stands out there launching threes.
