So, Mr. Thee Jazz Fan, not so long ago you ardently and, to use a euphemism, not so tactfully informed me that Jeremy Evans could never be a 4th big in the NBA, largely due to his light frame. Due to the... Egregious (?) manner in which you pursued and carried out your devices, I happily wish to inform you that it appears you are wrong. The numbers seem to support the ludicrous and repugnant notion that Jeremy can indeed be a 4th big (10 to 15 minutes a night?) in the NBA. His PER is currently 18.3 which is the highest on the team (not saying he's the best player on the team and I understand that it is in limited minutes but we are talking 4th big right?) and he is shooting 53% from the field. Additionally, he has flashed signs of a competent jump shot. Indeed, he has been fairly impressive at times and it would seem his physical tools, his amazingly quick second jump, as well as his sheer athleticism makes up for, in part, his light frame, and I would argue that his weaknesses are generally only accentuated when he is playing against 1st unit guys. Luckily, we are only talking 4th big material here. Feel free to kick against the pricks but,were I to be honest, I would find it infinitely more impressive were you to simply convey the faint idea that perhaps you were wrong. After all, the Jury is just mostly not out anymore.

Evans isn't very good. He's a serviceable 4th big on one of the worst teams in the West, and Gobert should be getting his minutes.

4th big who makes plays. To say he isn't very good is an interesting statement... very good relative to who? :LeBron James? Yeah, then he's not very good. But if we are comparing him to other 4th bigs in the NBA, he's a hell of a lot better than not very good. In that regard, I'd say there is some hyperbole being employed in relation to his deficiencies.
 
Evans has been better than I expected. That said, I don't see him as an integral piece of the team. Need a PF who is a beast down low to compete against physical players and one who can stretch the floor. Evans is neither. He's a good tweener. I'd say he's a 5th big. Keep him around as the 10th/11th player on the team, but don't overpay.

I could see Evans filling the role as the third best player on the 2nd Team. He's shown that he can shoot the ball well out to 18 feet or so, and he's a pretty good rebounder for the limited minutes he plays. Offensively, I don't see his slender frame hurting him, but defensively, he get's abused and is about as useful as an ashtray on a motorcycle.
 
Evans has proven he can stay in Nba, but only Mr. Corbin can play him over Kanter.

I would like to see Evans playing small forward.

Seems like he would be good at guarding stretch fours though
