Following potential 2014 draftees

Hey Cyrone...what you think of Rodney Hood?

I heard some hating on his defense though, has it been that bad? Admittedly Duke is one of the top teams I have seen the least of this year.

His offensive game is great though. Really has expanded from his MSU days. He use to never even attempt to draw contact. Has he dunked at all this year?

Also, does he remind you at all of Hayward? I thought he had some Hayward potential in him. Saw his assist have gone up this year.

it blows my mind to see so many Stauskas lovers in this thread mainly because last year most didnt think Tim Hardaway Jr. was worth a 1st round pick..

he and Stauskas are very similarly built. 6'5 w/o shoes, 200lbs, 6'7" wingspan, 38" vertical (reportedly for stauskas), and very similar #'s(Stauskas' %'s are slightly better) at Michigan..

Whats going to prevent Stauskas from being the next Sergey Karasev? i dont get the lottery hype

Honestly, I've hardly seen any games.

He's dunked a couple times, not much though. Just not part of his game, he's not what one would consider an explosive athlete.

I wouldn't say his defense is horrible, but it's definitely not good. He gets exposed more than he should because Duke has no low-post defender to clean up his mistakes, but he reaches too much and doesn't use his feet enough. He has the tools to be an average to slightly above average defender in the NBA, but he'd have to work his *** off.

Doesn't remind me of Hayward at all. Better shooter, worse defender, worse ball handler, doesn't create as well...definitely a better scoring game though. Dude is smooth, he makes it look easy on offense. He benefits from playing with Jabari, but he's been shooting lights out and has good size and great offensive moves.

Another Duke player, Sheed Sulaimon has been showing some really good potential as a combo guard...he's a bit undersized as a 2-guard, but he has been showing some great improvement as a PG in recent games. Hasn't played the 1 spot all year, just the last couple games.

11.6 PPG and 4.7 APG in his last 7 games, which I know aren't eye popping numbers, but trust me when I say he's been playing really, really well as of late. He's been shooting 49% from 3 this year, which is impressive considering he started the year off in a shooting slump. Good defender, good intangibles. He's worth a shot late in the first of this years draft or next year.

these Mizzou guards are nasty, Clarkson is gonna go in the 1st for sure he gets to the rack too easy.

Jabari Brown has a bit of Marcus Thornton about his game, ive moved him way up my list of SG's this year. I'd look at him before Bogdan Bodanovic, CJ Wilcox, Devyn Marble, Nick Johnson, Markel Brown etc

Brown is listed somewhere between 6'3-6'4 but hes tall enough to do that^^ also shooting 47% from 3 on 6.3 attempts per

Hardaway and Stauskas' games are not similar in any way.

those 1-100 ratings are based off of teirs in the draft, Len was selected before the consensus top pick.. i think thats a win, theres no perfect science to predicting the draft

I didnt have my best draft as far as predictions go but the lottery was turned upside-down with Nerlens falling. I had MCW(and Schroder) over Trey, to me thats a wash. I hated the idea of McLemore as a top pick, same with Porter, nailed those. Many many many preferred players like Sergey Karasev, Reggie Bullock and Tony Snell over Timmy Jr. i got that right..

fact of the matter is the jury is still out for 2½ seasons on last years draft, so many players aren't getting ANY pt.

Hardaway and Stauskas' games are not similar in any way.

this is my issue with Stauskas as a top 20 guy. to me last year watching Hardaway id constantly see these 3 things that gave me hope: Shooting,Finishing in transition and 1st step/crossover

i dont think Stauskas has the NBA finishing ability and 1st step of a fringe lottery player... same with McDermott and Sam Dekker

Please tell me you aren't trying to compare Thomas and Irving...please, please tell me you aren't doing that.

Also, you're wrong on Stauskas.

Hey Cyrone...what you think of Rodney?

I think stuckey is a tweener who will never be a good starter.
Most i would pay him is mid level exception

today I am leaning towards randle hoping that vonleh and Gordon go before him but unlikely for Gordon.

then trade up, or if my prayers are answered a collapse by gsw, and the jazz get McDermott.

sign Gordon for 8 to 10 mi

s n t for loul deng for kanter

Burke,
Hayward
deng
randle
favors

start

burks
McDermott
Gobert

get the back up minutes

Evans
Neto

round out the second unit but get what ever is left over.

8 man rotation

I've been leaning Randall the last week or so as well. Seems like a perfect fit next to favors. Not a fan of luol but definitely down with trading kanter to grab a starter caliber wing. Who fits this mold and is attainable besides loul?
