A post comparing racism in the Muslim culture to the depiction of racism here.

https://freethoughtblogs.com/blacks...ook-is-relevant-to-an-angry-romani-ex-muslim/

I think "Muslim culture" is a very inaccurate way of denoting that article.

'Arab' culture is much more accurate. I read the woman's post-- and most of her complaints were much more characteristic of Arab culture than Muslim culture-- particularly the concept of a racial hierarchy. That thought-process is strictly, and succinctly prohibited in the Islamic faith.

She should have been attacking Arab culture more than Muslim culture-- at least, IMO.

She is not Arabian, and her direct experience is with Turks more than Arabians. The Roma are from south-eastern Europe and Turkey.

I realized that Turkish and to some degree Persian people had managed to bend the ideology to acquire a privileged position in the same way white Europeans have adapted Christianity to their needs. It was this racial hierarchy, which works to the detriment of my people,

However, I think your main point was that Islam can be divorced from a racist hierarchy, and in your particular sub-culture in Canada, it is. I have no reason to doubt you in that.

I have plenty of coworkers still up in arms that they changed it from Christmas party to awards function 12 long years ago. They preach that "we are no longer a Christian nation", while I think "they left Europe to get away from your catholic plague".

I can't wait for this god forsaken holiday to be over.

well, it's over now, as it St. Valentine's Day, and soon enough St. Patrick's Day will be behind us, and we'll be done with major Christian holidays for the year

at any rate, I'm kinda bummed about the US speedskaters @ Sochi, I <3 Shani Davis.

Nice. Not that there is anything too revealing there, but I've got a soft spot for infiltration in those types of settings. Alex Jones sneaking into Bohemian Grove is legendary.

On another note, I had a dream last night that a black guy stabbed me while I was mowing the lawn.

You can believe some of the most bizarre stuff, ducky. Alex Jones didn't sneak into a convention with US Presidents and 2599 other world influencers. He went to an open house play, taped it, sensationalized and distorted the hell out of it, then sold you a bill of goods.

BTW, burning figures in effigy was a common practice back when that society got formed. I never saw what the fuss was all about to begin with.

I can see how rich people making a mockery of poor people squabbling frivolously because they don't have a clue would insult them because they don't have a clue. Same goes for the satirical remarks regarding the discount window and liquidity programs. It doesn't work me up though (I actually like Wilbur Ross quite a bit too).

Thank you for disagreeing with a point that no one made. You are on top of your game today.

The original article stated that the people did not agree with their lifestyle, and then said they were called bigots because of this. You seemed to agree that they were bigots or that they should have been called bigots. Therefore it was a point that was made, since it was inferred in the original article you posted. While I may not agree with their decision to not invite homosexuals over to their party, I don't think they should be called bigots for disagreeing with homosexuality.

The original article stated that the people did not agree with their lifestyle, and then said they were called bigots because of this.

Yes, you are definitely in top form. The original article mentions that the couple in question refused to invite the two homosexual couples to neighborhood gatherings they hosted. That choice led to them being called bigots.

You seemed to agree that they were bigots or that they should have been called bigots.

They are bigots, every bit as much as if they would refuse to include an interracial couple in a neighborhood gathering.

... I don't think they should be called bigots for disagreeing with homosexuality.

I agree. However, they took actions well beyond "disagreeing".

Right, they didn't invite them because they didn't agree with their lifestyle. Typically when you disagree with a lifestyle, it leads you to act accordingly. Nice to see you agreeing with me.

They are bigots, every bit as much as if they would refuse to include an interracial couple in a neighborhood gathering.

Laughable comparison.

Let me ask you something OB. I know you're against guns, and you don't seem to like people who carry guns. Lets say you know your neighbor has loaded guns in his house, for protection obviously, and you know that he always carries around a loaded pistol. If he invites you over for dinner, would you go? Would you invite him over dinner, knowing that he would have a pistol on him? Perhaps you would, perhaps you wouldn't. But if you didn't, that would be you disagreeing with his lifestyle, and thus, being a bigot by not including him.

tl, dnr (bilatp)

seriously, though, I'll give it another try in a bit

...they took actions well beyond "disagreeing".

unless I missed something (I did read that link) what they did was simply not invite someone to their party, and then complained when they were left off the guest list themselves...

I'm not sure how far "beyond" disagreeing you'd call that, but I'd say it's pretty mild

If I start a club for my friends and me, a men's club let's say, for the express purpose of building up that comaraderie of my buddies and me, you know because we were best friends in high school, and we do not allow women to come to our meetings, does that make me a bigot?
