We didn't even move Jefferson. HOLY $^&* are we going to use all are cap room to sign the Haywards of the world to max contracts. What are we doing. DL and KOC can star in a movie called dumb and dumber.

If we didn't sign Hayward to a max contract before the season, why do you think we would do so after this season?

And who would you have traded Jefferson to, given his salary? Remember, Golden State basically paid US to take him off their hands. Granted he's been playing better than expected, but still--his salary is over $10 million!

How did we land GSW's first round picks in '14 and '17? Cap-room.

What will we have in spades when we let Jefferson and Marvin's contracts expire? Cap-room.

As to how we're going this year:

Burke solidified himself as a legit NBA starter at PG. Check.

Burks solidified himself as a legit NBA scoring 6th man. Check.

Kanter solidified himself as a legit scoring big in the NBA. Check.

Favors solidified himself as an above average defensive pivot in the NBA. Check.

We should have moved Marvin for a mid or late 1st-rd pick, but I'm getting the sense the Jazz may actually want to keep him. He fits in and is a Jazz type of guy.

Would you have traded a mid/late 1st rd pick for Marvin?

Didn't think so.

You are right on the whole Jefferson trade ability. Just ranting.... Who else are we going to sign with all that cap room. We clearly overvalue Hayward and our two stud young guys ride the pine. I don't see us landing a big FA.

Can't believe we couldn't trade Marvin to a contender for a 2nd rounder in 2035. I know Favors is hurt, but unless the Jazz wanna keep Marvin, they should just let Kanter, Evans and Gobert play 30 minutes each a night and see what happens. I'm starting to think the Jazz might wanna keep him.
Didn't think anyone would offer anything for Jefferson. He's an ok player, but he wouldn't be a difference maker to a contender. I just hope Ty benches him and let Burks play more minutes. One can dream, right?

The Jazz are going to keep Marv, and I would much rather have him than a second rounder. If we can get him back for say 5m year, he would be an outstanding piece.

Rjeff I would have liked to move, but with the returns we saw on guys today I don't think he could have gotten anything.

Kanter solidified himself as a legit scoring big in the NBA. Check.

His FG% is down. His FT% is down. His FTA per-36 minutes has declined every season. His rebounding has declined every season. Same with his BLK%. His true shooting % is a career worst this season. His PER is down from last season. He is trending the wrong way in virtually every stat there is, accept for his passing, which has improved. So, yes he obviously has solidified himself, like you said. "Check"

Yes, because there were several deals made today in which teams were willing to give up 1st round picks, most notably for Spencer Hawes, the starting center for Philadelphia.

Oh wait...

How big of a steal did Lindsey get to take back 3 1st round picks for a bunch of expiring contracts?

Clearly the teams are placing a premium on 1st rounders with the new CBA. Those picks will be massive assets in the future.

Lindsey ain't no lemon.
