Following potential 2014 draftees

My view---

Tier 1: Wiggins (franchise player)
Tier 2: Parker, Exum (expected All Stars)
Tier 3: Embiid (depending on risk), Smart (can he shoot? is he a playmaker?), Gordon (can he develop offensively?)
Tier 4: Vonleh, Randle (starters and maybe a little more)

I think Wiggins is on his own tier.

I think Parker and Exum are the next tier, and these will be the Top 3 in a future re-draft.

Embiid, the whole question is his back condition and that risk factor. That makes him a wildcard.

I need to see how Parker does vs. NBA defenders. You see how Carmello's game has become mostly pull-up jumpers rather than post work. I wonder what Parker will be able to do inside.

Smart and Gordon are potential impact players with some flaws. I think that puts them on about the same tier.

Gobert might be the fastest true 7 footer in the league. check yoself.

he is fast for his size. and fastest true 7fter doesn't say much. how many true 7fters are in the nba? it's probably a single digit.

I, for one, am not "shy." I want a two-way player as a prize for enduring a season of donkey ****.

This.

How can you honesty say Exum is an expected All-Star?

Going to laugh so hard when he bust just like Andrew Harrison.

it's hard to evaluate exum. it almost seems like every damn tape on him has no defense or against inferior talents. Bron or Dwight or any other top athlete from high school were different because they just stood out physically. bron looked like a man when he was sophomore in high school. to me this is important when you don't have much game tape.

exum looks talented for sure, but you can't say he is once in a generation type of talent. i wonder how lavine would look like if he was from overseas against inferior athletes. and this is the only reason i can't put him in my top 5.

he sure looks talented. he sure looks like he can be tmac minime with his length, athleticism, and playmaking ability. and tmac didn't even display this kinda ability until later on his career. it's promising sign. can he be like tmac? point forward in the future? i would say he can be if he is legit 6ft 6 with serious length. make him the next tmac would be easier than making him the PG. but if he comes in short at 6ft 4 1/2 barefoot then you have to make him 2 and maybe build him up as true combo.

i'm hoping he comes in tall with legit length so he can play 3. he is young, so maybe he can grow an inch or two. i would not hesitate to draft him if puts up gawdy predraft numbers at #7. if he comes in short at 6ft 4 ish, then i would pass. i would rather gamble on gordon to be honest.

I hate highlight films.

Remember when Andrew Harrison was a "surefire" all-star top5 pick cuz he did good in some tourneys and all that?

Hard to scout a player who isn't playing in a league with competition on his level, with coaches scouting for your game.

I wish the jazz were an organization that could take in a troubled player with full confidence that their system and culture would keep them in line (at least for a while). Someone is going to get a deal of PJ Hairston.

Chris Walker? :D

If Exum does pan out to be an allstar or better it wont be because the GM that drafted him has an elite eye for talent, but because he simply lucked the **** out.

Theres not a person on the planet that can tell you with certainty what kind of player he will be in the league.

Thank you.

Don't have a problem with people liking Exum, but there is a level of certainty when people talk about him (saying he is faster than Derrick Rose is one example) that is just annoying.

He has the same credentials as most HS players entering college. He has played in U19(U/Whatever) tournaments in international play and has played at whatever is the Australasian equivalent to HS/AAU basketball.

What if a prospect like Andrew Harrison did the same thing? Would he still be hyped as a top talent in the draft instead of a late first at best/returning to school player?

Hezonja had a big game sunday, 26points in 20mins 9/11fg's 4/6 from 3.

Dude won't bust. As long as he doesn't break like Shaun Livingston and Kerry Kittles.

He's a guard though. He's not big enough weight/strengthwise to be a swingman.

Okay, fine. I'm pimping Exum.

word. maybe he will light up the predraft and comes in tall and long. that way at least it would be comforting to know he is indeed a superior athlete with serious tmac potential physically. if so, then i wouldn't mind using #7-#9 on him.

i think so. i don't know when this picture was taken. looks like 6ft 5er.

hope he had a late growth spurt, but most likely he will be 6ft 4-5 barefoot meaning he won't be next tmac. he really is built like mcw from these pics.

And who can't you say that about? Name me one player in this upcoming draft. TIA.

Totally agree. Think Exum is going to really shine. He's got that elite skill.

that pic is from the Hoops summit where he was measured at 6'6" with a 6'9.25" wingspan at 188lbs

apparently in the last calander year Exum has added 17lbs and is up to 195ish

hes recently moved to LA to prepare for the draft so you can bet hes going to kill it at the combine.

- his head is up near the rim on this dunk, i think in this thread his lack of vertical has been way overstated

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=61VxehrN7-s is my favorite Exum play, i dont need to see him play 30 games in college to determine if that crossover is elite
