Doc Rivers for Head Coach?

Lol at anyone who thinks these players/coaches are going to walk away from their contracts because of Sterling.
 
It's not like this was a secret with Sterling. Rivers and the players could have refused to coach or play for a known bigot, but chose to sign there anyway, and the league has never taken action. I guess money trumps principle.
 
Y'all know that Magic had this girl record sterling so he would get booted and Magic could buy up the Clippers?!?!!??
 
I keep imagining Sterling selling the team and the Balmer group buying and moving it to Seattle.
 
Rivers rep as a coach is inflated. He didn't win a championship until Ainge formed the big 3. And then they only won 1 championship. And then there's his record in Orlando. I don't want Rivers to coach the Jazz. Give me Messina.
 
Not going to happen. If anything, Sterling will move away from the Clippers. Tons of pressure from owners and the league right now that this was simply the straw that will finally ostracize him.

This. He will "step down" as acting owner or whatever they want to call it and they will say some family member who renounces his thoughts on race will now be the controling interest in name only.

His estranged wife is just as bad (and racist). Reports are she regularly posed as a health inspector to gain access to tenants apartments. A former property supervisor for the Sterlings also said Mrs. Sterling required her to record the ethnicity of the tenants when they inspected the apartments.

Silver has his hands somewhat tied. Most he can find Sterling is $1M. And he can't force Sterling to sell the team since he is meeting his financial obligations. He can suspend Sterling, however. This matter will likely end up in the courts. Silver will fine and suspend Sterling and Donald will appeal. Only way to "force" him to sell is for the NBA and the other owners to encourage sponsors to cancel their support. And for players like Griifin, CP3, etc. to demand trades. Of course, Sterling will come out of this >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> financially. Someone like Magic will step in - with Silver's blessing - and offer way above market value just to get Sterling out of the picture. Silver will likely promise a little quid pro quo to Magic to get it done.
 
Rivers will never return as president and coach under Sterling, sources told Yahoo Sports, and that'll start the beginning of a player mutiny that could result with several top Clippers also demanding out of the franchise.
 
Houston Rockets owner Leslie Alexander told the Houston Chronicle that the NBA should allow the Los Angeles Clippers players to become free agents so that they don't have to play for Donald Sterling.

He made this suggestion to NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, who said that he would consider it.

“I thought that there’s got to be a way to disrupt him from owning the team,” Alexander said. “I gave [Silver] the sword to deal with this. I said, ‘Let the players become free agents.’ I mentioned that to Adam. I told Adam I don’t think he can be removed because the constitution (of the NBA) only allows him to be removed except for gambling. I’m not sure that legally can be done. But if he loses his players, nobody is going to want to go there. He’ll only be able to get a player that is worth $2 million and will play for $12 (million.) And who is going to want to coach there? If you’re a player in the NBA you don’t want to play for somebody like that. If you worked for a company, you would walk away and say, ‘I’m gone.' I think the players should have that right.”

“He listened to it,” Alexander added. “He said he hadn’t heard that before. He said to me, ‘You always give me a novel idea that I haven’t heard before.’ He told me he would look at it and see what the professionals around him think.”

On second thought that lineup needs shooting.

Trade burks, the rights to tomic and jl3 for beal and put beal in the starting lineup and bring wiggins of the bench
