2014 Draft Combine

Teams are allowed 18 interviews at the combine (maximum of 30 minutes) with no Embiid, Wiggins and Jabari id really like to find out what that list looks like

IMO, they should expand the # of interviews if a team has extra picks.
But it's really not that big a deal. With three of the top 35 picks, the Jazz will have most of the prospects in for private workouts. It might be wise to target the international players for interviews since many would be less likely (or able) to do individual workouts between the combine and draft.

Why should they go? I do not see any positives coming out of it. They are all listed as a potential #1 pick. Only thing the combine can do is potentially hurt their stock.

Maybe given that they can get away with it, I'm just saying I don't like it. Just like I don't like Johnny Maziel having to have his own special throwing day with perfect conditions. And plus, it's extremely unlikely any of these guys will have anything pop in in what they are looking at at the combine that will move them negative spots. It's not for them anyway, it's so the teams that will be eventually paying them millions have as much information as possible to make their decisions with.

Oh I agree. Just stating that for the players already at the top they have nothing to gain by participating. As long as it is optional people will opt out.

I think they do, but it's not like an extra 18, it's like an extra 5 or something.

I love the combine. The measurements are awesome when they measure some dudes and they are three of four inches shorter than listed. I wish they would show the measurements and see how some guys grow three inches by just putting on their shoes. I think the combine is going to be on ESPN2 and ESPNU. I'm really excited to see how Julius Randal and Aaron Gordon measure out. If Julius Randal isn't a legitimate 6'9", we should pass on him.

barefoot 6ft 9? i doubt randle is that tall.

i'll be happy with 6ft 8 even.

McCrae may get selected in the bottom half of the 2nd round. the 2 biggest factors hurting his stock are Age (will turn 24 during rookie season) and Weight(175lbs), his shooting mechanics are a bit screwy but the ball goes in the hoop for the most part, hes streaky though, and was able to shoulder a huge load of the offense for Tennessee.

Could be a damn good UDFA though, he seems like 'a gamer' to me. I doubt he ever puts on enough weight to look the part of an NBA starter, id say hes got a shot at developing into a roleplayer. He put the team on his back a few times and outplayed Stauskas in their matchup in the tournament, he really outplayed Iowa's Roy Devyn Marble whos considered a 2nd rounder.

Chris Haynes: Arizona F Aaron Gordon to attend Chicago Combine to go through measurements, testing. But not basketball-related drills, per league source. @ChrisBHaynes

Detroit Free Press: That Michigan State-injuries-and-illnesses thing is following Adreian Payne into his professional career. Payne has mononucleosis and won't be able to participate in workouts or basketball-related activities at the NBA predraft camp in Chicago this week, his agent, Mark Bartelstein, said in a phone interview. Payne is still planning to attend the combine for interviews and medical checks. Bartelstein said he isn't sure how long Payne has had mono but that it has been improving lately. "We think he'll be fully healthy in a couple weeks," Bartelstein said of Payne, who has been living in Chicago and preparing for the June 26 NBA draft. Payne missed seven games as a senior at MSU with a foot sprain.

Chad Ford: Michigan’s Mitch McGary also will miss NBA Draft Combine. Back is better, but still not quite ready for drills & athletic testing

Im very interested in what happens with these reported monster vertical jump #'s

Zach LaVine and Nick Johnson reportedly have 47" verticals which would break the DJ Stephens record
Thanasis Antetokoumpo, 44"
Markel Brown, 43"
Aaron Gordon, 43"
James Young, 42"
Jahii Carson, 42"
Jerami Grant, 40"
Deonte Burton, 40"

Players like Cleanthony Early, Semaj Christon, Adriean Payne, Kendall Williams, KJ McDaniels, Glenn Robinson III, and Nik Stauskas are expected to jump close to 40" and im sure im missing a few

If KJ isn't well over 40" I will be shocked.

if this kid(HS class of 2016) only has a 43" vertical (hes 6'3½") then its hard to believe anyone is going to be near 48"

BUT..who knew Shane Larkin was going to jump 44" last year

it should be interesting to see if any skinny guys put on weight, hopefully Exum is getting close to 195-200lbs

What time and what channels? I can't find anything/not looking hard enough.

ESPNU and ESPN2 will televise 10 hours of live NBA Draft Combine coverage on Thursday, May 15, and Friday, May 16

They don't televise the height and weight measurements (today). But they show the jumping running stuff and the basketball drills on Thursday Friday.

Drafte express should start posting measurements this afternoon.

also NBA TV has an "NBA Draft Combine Special" today from 1 to 3pm EST

there should be some interviews with the players

its telling that Sim Bhullar didnt get an invite to the combine, especially with the lack of Centers

Rudy's records are safe this year
