Quin Snyder is the new coach

I'd love to be able to talk to Dennis about this, and hear his honest opinion in the matter.

The only thing I can imagine is that Quin really sold the Jazz on how loyal he would be to this franchise, how loyal he would be to the front office, and that he had a really great chance at bringing over Ettore Messina for a couple years as an assistant.


Maybe Messina doesn't bring that flexibility, as he wants to be given the freedom that he as a decorated coach deserves. Who knows.

I guess I can stop dreaming of Stockton and JVG on the sidelines now. Would probably be pretty bummed about that, but Netflix just told me Orange is the New Black Season 2 is now available.

I really hope that Messina is a part of the deal. I'll reserve judgement on Snyder (for now) but I'd spend whatever reasonable amount it takes to lure Ettore to Utah. I think that the combination of Snyder/Messina could be amazing for the development of our very, very young roster. If this is how to maximize the talent that the Jazz have, then I'm going to be very happy with this hire.
 
I thought he looked like Robert Palmer. Just put a few models behind him robotically playing instruments and you're there.

Sure seems to have some fire to him (and maybe a fun side as well.) Depending on how he puts together his staff, this might end up being a decent hire long-term.

With that said, having your prospects narrowed down to Boylen, Gentry, Griffin and Jones might have been a brilliant way for Jazzfanz to actually root for the team to hire Snyder. Did we just get social engineered?

Why is my overriding thought of Snyder that he was fired from Mizzou for being a sleaze ball?
