What would you rather have to start your franchise?

Durant or the entire Grizzlies Roster?

Lebron or the entire Warriors roster?

Durant or the entire Clippers Roster?

Lebron or the entire Rockets Roster?

Etc....

Obviously, the full team would be better at first, but you could quickly build a contender if you had Lebron or Durant that would be better than all those teams.

These are extreme examples of would you rather.. But I would still take Lebron or Durant over any roster except the Spurs, and maybe N.O because AD will be great soon too..

When talking about the Jazz making a trade to move up, we are talking about two pieces to a team that won 25 games.

Why are so many people having trouble with idea of trading a bunch of assets for a possible franchise player? Yes we know it's a risk because we don't know for sure how good they will be, but I can assure you that once teams know if they truly are great, we won't be able to trade for them then. And we sure as hell aren't getting them to come here via free agency. I suppose we could wait 7 years or so for Jabari, but that's not a guarantee either.

So I ask again, what's the problem here?

If Cleveland wants Favors, Burks, the 5th, and even another 1st round, then I say go for it. We'll still have plenty to work with after that. Not only that, maybe then we can start attracting free agents.

I get what you are saying and I'm in support of the trade but I get why some are hesitant. The top2 have some question marks and could very well not work out. Wiggins comp is Paul George and Parker's is Melo at best.

Those could be wrong obv and they can exceed it, but they could bust. I'd take the chance and do the trade but these aren't can't miss guys like Bron.

Again, id do it. Now.

Ill take the Rockets roster. 2 legit max players, young players on low cost restricted deals, plenty of capspace next off-season.

Yeah we ain't talking lebron and durant here. We're talking mcgrady and pierce... Maybe. I do the deal if we don't have to give an unprotected pick next year.

The trouble is that there are no guarantees that Embiid will be a franchise player, especially considering that he is a 7-footer with a history of injuries.

Wiggins has all the gifts and athleticism to be Kobe or MJ. Parker could end up being a mix between Lebron and Carmelo. You make the trade based on the potential alone.

Other than Melo I've not heard those comps at all.

apple to oranges.

i know that durant and lebron are franchise superstar players.

hack would you trade a whole team for olawakandi? how bout kwame brown? what about darko milicic?

Yea this is a really dumb thread....

If Parker/Wiggins = LeBron/Durant then the Cavs would be the dumbest team in the whole world to trade that pick.

lol. Point taken

But that's why I'd take Jabari. He isn't busting. I'm sure of it. Wiggins, Embiid, and the rest, who knows? It's a crapshoot for sure. But I'd still be happy with Wiggins too. Roll them dice. Who wants to play it safe anyways.

I'm just gambling junkie tbh..

You love this thread.

And I don't know how to respond to your comment either. Ya, Cavs will be stupid for making this trade. Who cares! We aren't Cavs fans.

Some of you are looking at things the wrong way. Yes wiggins & parker are still unknown. Instead, think of it as a 50/50 shot at a top 5 player in the league. Maybe not lbj or durrant, but a star none-the-less.

What have we seen from Wiggins or Parker that tells us they're a sure thing? Wiggins disappeared in several games and Parker is a liability on defense. I would put Exum into the grouping of possible franchise players, too...and Embiid. But I wouldn't bet our roster on any of them.

So let's say that Wiggins is roughly the equivalent to Harden in terms of general impact of the game (less offense, more defense, obviously). You still do the deal.

Not so easy to "quickly build a roster."
Jazz had two of the greatest of all time. But they couldn't build a championship roster around them, not through the draft nor free agency.

If they are doing it for Embiid, I say HELL NO. Stress fractures in a big man are DEATH... Oden and Bowie ring a bell? If Lindsey does this trade and takes Embiid, he should be fired on the spot, especially since it is almost a guarantee that Embiid will drop to at least no. 3.
