This looks like a ridiculous, "Nba 2k" type trade to me. With a possible failure in Jabari's production Jazz will ruin all the efforts of post Deron era.

The entire effort of the post Deron era was to get that player that will be a cornerstone of the Jazz franchise. So far they have not landed that player. They have tried but haven't succeeded. So we keep trying. You can replace a Burks, Favors, Burke...much easier than you can a true superstar player. ANyone and everything are open to being moved to land that player.

The only thing you want to avoid is the inability to start placing talent around that player once you have him. If the Jazz do this trade they still have financial flexibility and a number of picks over the next two years.

I'm all in.
 
If only dumbass KOC drafted Leonard we would not even need to talk about Burks. Otherwise, it is great trade. Jack would be best backup PG we had for years...Draft Wiggins or Jabari and we have our superstar. Favors is nice but nothing special TBH. To bad Cavs will not do it, they may be stupid but not at this level.
 
I think
1.) We get the #1 pick but don't give up as much that's being reported. Or
2.) We get back more than just #1 and Jack

Whats's being said is 76ers are in the bidding with #3, #10 and Thaddeus Young. Favors, Burks, #5 and #23 is worth a lot more than what Philli is offering.

It was a defensive move, even if it was ballsy. I also think they wanted to exercise some demons because Sloan wanted Deron gone for most of that season and they probably felt like it was 'the right thing'.
 
DL is so effing desperate, the Cavs should just keep saying no, demanding more future 1st round picks and Kanter - might as well really fleece the Jazz while taking advantage of a weak Dennis Lindsey.

That is, if any of this is true, which I doubt.

I think the Jazz will walk somewhere close to what this deal is. I think Lindsey is a student of the game and knows what a premier player means, but I don't think he or the organization is desperate.
 
I think it's DL leaking this info out so on draft night we are so excited that he just traded a couple unprotected 2nd rounders for the #1 and rights to tomic. Yay for Cleveland!
