Following potential 2014 draftees

Yes. If the real draft ends up like this. I think Orlando hits a grand slam. Smart at 12... Bullshiz!

I think there's a chance Ford's Mock doesn't get any picks right. I will take a guess and say he will get 4 picks right. He's way off.

First of all, this is the draft that will henceforth be known as the Wiggins draft. It's all about Wiggins.

It was about Wiggins and Embiid. Now it's about Wiggins.

Wait what changed? If the price to move up is the same I'm not sure it's worth it for a guy who can't defend.

Likely the Millers put in their 2 cents. Or rather, hundreds of millions.
Parker would sell 10x the merchandise that Wiggins would. And even more worldwide as he'd have a built-in fan base. And that would "convert" many over to be Utah Jazz fans instead of following the Lakers or Bulls. I understand the reasoning behind it. And for that reason, I'm almost hoping Dennis announces the price was just way too high to move up (or Cleveland goes with Orlando or Philly). The backlash from a lot of fans for taking Wiggins over Parker would be enormous, especially in the first couple of years when Parker is scoring 20/per and Wiggins is still coming in to his game.

I can't say this for sure, but he's probably saying this to possibly make someone fall in love, or maybe he does think this, after all he played on the wing in high school, and played out of position in the paint as a C, he also could be saying he can play out in space and hit outside shots, dribble, and pass.

Regardless of what he thinks, he will play what ever position his coach wants him to.

Again you like the others are grasping at straws. To say he's not self aware is simply not true.

Ummm you're putting words in his mouth. The tweet said he thinks he's a small forward... If that is the case and context of the conversation then it is a sign he is not self aware. Personality and IQ are important. If a player is clearly best at one position but thinks he is another position that is a sign to me that he may not be self aware.

We are all grasping at straws with these guys... It's not like we have time to call up their HS coaches and find out about them. All we get are two minute interviews here and there. In those two minute interviews Gordon is impressive and Vonleh makes me nervous.

I guess when you run out of smart stuff to say you just throw out insults... We are all voicing opinions here... It's the reason the forum exists.

No just stating the fact that you and others are on a witch hunt when it comes to Vonleh, because he is easily a top five draft pick and Gordon is more likely to be a role player, because he has obvious flaws, and that's not grasping at straws.

I wouldn't mind Vonleh... I'm not out to hunt him down chill. I like Gordon's attitude and personality better. He has two critical flaws though. I wouldn't say demeanor and bball IQ are small issues.

Don't forget he's 18, and plays out of position, he played point forward in high school. Vonleh was badly underused, and yet in only 26 minutes a game he was an 11/9 guy in the college restrictive offense on a really bad team with little talent in a major conference. You are again grasping at straws again. What the hell is wrong with his demeanor?

I like Vonleh. He needs to get more confident (he's just a kid and he will certainly get more confident) and he's more reserved than Gordon but there's nothing wrong with that. He gave the Jazz media a good interview - he knows about the game.

I didn't like Randle's interview. There's something about Randle's personality and attitude I don't like.

Nothing wrong per se... I just think he's quiet and we already have a few soft spoken guys. Gordon has blown me away with his interviews and he was an important part of a really good team. Who knows though... Maybe he is all talk. I'm not sure what went on with that team this year. I watched a bunch of their games and felt like he was underutilized. We are closer than you think on Vonleh.

Also, just chill man. I said earlier that maybe the quote was out of context. If Vonleh does however think he is a small forward then he may have low bball IQ.... Cuz dude is a big who might be able to shoot and dribble well for a big.

I don't buy that. Wanna sell tickets and merchandise? Be good. I don't believe that if we draft Jabari suddenly everybody is wearing their Parker jerseys to church on Sunday. It's not THAT big a deal. If Wiggins was a top 5/10 player we would sell out every game and he would sell plenty of jerseys. This state is just waiting to have a superstar of their own, we would go crazy over them. Religious ties don't matter. If they take Parker it's because they like him better. (which is understandable)

I just think Wiggins is in his own tier now that Embiid is out.

I wouldn't say demeanor and bball IQ are small issues.

this is classic overthinking.

When talking about top 5 picks these parts of intangibles are far from crucial, deal-breaking elements.

Noah Vonleh is 18... I repeat 18!!!

At what point did demeanor and BBIQ become big issues concerning 18 year olds in the draft?

This seems new to me.

Some might make the case that players with questionable demeanor and low BBIQ went #1 and #7 last year.

look at past drafts too...

How do you think Qyntel Woods went #7 overall? or Johnathan Bender 5th in 1999? were the teams bamboozled into thinking these players had passable BBIQ and demeanor? probably not. I'd say they most likely didn't care about it all that much. They projected these players into a certain role, and planned to work on the BBIQ from there, in the framework of the teams system and that made them comfortable enough to pull the trigger at those spots.

Some here are turning a blind eye to the steak and potatoes(skill-set) because they're too busy crying about the asparagus.

Id have an easier time entertaining this BBIQ and Demeanor concern as a legitimate issue worthy of passing on him, if we're talking about a Derrick Character, Lance Stephenson, Caron Butler or Javaris Crittenton.
