I hope we re-sign him. He is going to have a great year next year.
MAX doe?
I just posted this in another thread but I think it applies here.
All I know is that only three players in the league averaged these stats 16.2pts, 5.1rb, 5.2as. LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Gordon Hayward. Then if you add in 1.4st, 0.5blks there's only one guy in the NBA they did that Gordon Hayward. I don't care what any of you say if that was easy to do 35 or 40 guys would be doing it every year. If he goes back to his career average percentages he'll score over 20 a game. In a better system with better coaching you can expect everything else to go up as well. I don't even begin to see the selfish player you're talking about but I do agree with you that he plays soft when people poke him in the ear and he pouts way too much. If he can find his balls and man up and play with a little more excitement dude is legit.
Obviously I'd rather not. I know if we do, it will probably bite us in the *** later. What else are we going to do though? I think re-signing Hayward, even for a price over what he is worth, is our best chance at competing long-term. I don't see us getting anyone more talented, and I don't think re-signing Burks, even for a cheaper amount (instead of Hayward at all), will make us a better than team than an over-paid Hayward.
I harbor no ill will towards how Hayward played free agency. Anyone who does is a baby.
I've never liked him. Kids weak. He won't outplay an $8mil a year contract.

Demar Derozan is better than Hayward and people were killing his 4/40 million dollar extension before last season.

He out plays a 8mil contract all day long. Many people just don't really understand the value of good players and how the NBA really works? The salary cap went up almost 5mil just this year. With the new TV deal the NBA estimates cap could go up to the 90-100mil range. With that 13 to 15mil you pay Hayward is nothing.
He signed that offer after averaging 17,3,3 with little ability to shoot from outside of 18 feet. He really improved after he signed that deal and Hayward could easily do the same

Armed with that info, I project Gordo at 37/16/12 next year.
The anti Hayward stuff is really harshing my buzz, man. I'm actually worried that if we pay him more than 12 he'll get booed like he set out to screw the team or something. People need to get a grip.
