Official: Fire Dennis Lindsey thread

I hate to say it, but I don't think you can blame DL. This move smacks of ownership afraid of not being able to sell tickets. Either way, we can all quit with the B.S. about rebuilding the right way. The FO ****ed up this rebuild by waiting a year too long to start, and now they're making short-term decisions for tickets sales that hinder the actual rebuild. DL is just another puppet for the Millers.

There is no way you actually believe this. Just.....WOW.

Drives me crazy when ppl say the 17' draft pick is a late First Rounder.

We got an unprotected pick 3 years from now from a franchise that has NEVER had sustained success. That could be a top 10 pick if things head south for the warriors.

Teams NEVER leave a pick unprotected that far out. It shows that GSW can and will make short sighted moves, and it's totally possible they do something that blows up in their face and makes our pick more valuable.

The 17' pick is a swing for the fences type thing. I very nice gamble to take.

Not only that, but people forget how close the warriors were to missing the playoffs this year, and us getting another lottery pick. One more injury and they fall out of the playoffs thus last year.

Harry Giles is gonna be Kevin Garnett good. 100 grade. By far my favorite player in 2017 draft if the one and done rule sticks, the Jazz have 2 firsts and 4 seconds in 2017.

I'm not sure if undersized is the word to use for Jarnell Stokes though, hes monstrously strong and almost 270lbs.

We did get hood with the pick this year. Can't be terribly pissed about that. Plenty of things to get on DL about over the past 10 months, but getting those picks is not one to butch about.

I didn't address the thread title: Dennis Lindsey has done nothing close to deserve getting fired for. Not yet, at least.

If Exum busts and Snyder doesn't magically make everything all better in the next three or four years, then there might be some points to make.

Hood could conceivably be better than Barnes. Not like Barnes has been tearing the league up as a SF or anything. Had a good playoff series as a stretch 4, and that has been the highlight of his 2 year career thus far.

Bold Prediction

Hood has a better year than Barnes this year.

Just looked at Barnes' numbers, and damn, he sucks especially with Igoudala in the mix.

I don't think DL should be fired, but the way the Hayward signing went down was pretty stupid. DL is after all a flawed human being not the bb god some of you think he is.

Pretty excited about hood. I think he could turn out to be a good starter.

Yea unfortunately we just signed Hayward for $15+ million who happens to play the same position. IF you move Hayward to SG then Burks goes to the bench or Exum does. Makes the deal even worse.

Hayward has played the bulk of his minutes at SG. I think having depth at multiple positions and guys who can play multiple positions is a good problem to have. If Snyder truly means what he says that players will earn their playing time, this could be a really good time to be a Jazz fan.

Yeah great idea, lets fire a gm that's actually making the rebuild fun! Seriously, Utah was one of the most profitable teams last year, which means, that there hiring additional positions in the front office and for the scouting department. Man, It personally gets me excited when I read the Jazz just hired so and so.

I love that D.L. goes on the Zone every Friday at 5. He seems very much more open then K.O.C. Which I also love. Seriously, the Hayward might have cost 10 plus more million but in 2 years, with the new Tv deal. I bet he looks like a steal! If you put Hayward on a team with another star or 2. He would very much be a star.

I saw someone complaining about the 2 1st unprotected picks we got....Seriously how much fun is it to have an xtra 1st round pick when the season gets over.. Makes me research college players a little more and lets you hear a few more rumors about he Jazz, looking to make a deal. Also Utah traded the 35th pick for the worst of memphis 2nd rounder next year. One happens to be Boston. Has Boston got much better this off season? No, and if I recall they picked 34th this past draft. Even if Boston pulls off a trade for Love... will a Rondo/Love combo get you into the Playoffs.... No!!! this off season, the East has only gotten stronger.

I think D.L is doing a great job and I fully support what hes doing!! Keep up the great work D.L. I'm super excited for the next Season!! The growth of the core 5, additions of Exum/Hood, and more playing time for Gobert. Seriously, i'm excited.

P.s. I really liked what David Locke said a few weeks ago on his podcast......Why can't the Jazz fans, not be Jazz fans, and just be excited about the Jazz!

Well Put!! Repped!

HE DOESN'T KNOW THE FUTURE. YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT HAYWARD WAS ASKING FOR. Hayward could've been demanding the max this whole time, how would everyone reacted to the Jazz extending him at $14 million per year before last season? I can tell you that: much worse than this.

Nobody wanted to pay him that kind of money then, and nobody wants to pay him that money now. But the Jazz did what they could in hopes of avoiding it. They lost, they tried. The only qualm I've had in this process from the standpoint of management is matching (and sending out the message that they'd match all offers [which I've always thought was stupid since if they really wanted to throw a mountain of cash at a player, the team would probably have already come to terms with the player] which probably helped raise the matching price), but that's the Millers call.

OP lost me at Harrison Barnes. Is he or Ben Mclemore the worst player in the NBA? Oh well, doesn't matter just keep guys like that away from the Jazz.
