Rookie looks pretty good. LOL at teams wanting to take Aaron Gordon over Randle.

Should be fun watching him this year. I personally love the kid for his determination and willingness to work hard and refusal to lose.

His hesitation dribble is really good because of his ability to accelerate with power, but will that be effective in the NBA when no one respects your jumper or right hand?

Even when he does actually drive to his right, he tries to finish with his left, even when it's a harder shot.

Looks pretty meh to me

Lame. He's got mobility and quickness that other 6'9" 250-lb players don't have. Plus he can handle, change direction and finish. He's going to draw a lot of fouls, score a lot of points and grab a lot of boards. Plus his defense isn't as bad as advertised.

I like Randle, especially for where he was picked.

Gordon seems meh to me.

He can go in 1 direction. He can't really handle as much as he just uses his nice combination of acceleration/strength to get by people. Not buying that is going to work in the NBA.

People are just going to sag off of him, overplay his left hand, make him try to finish around the rim with his off-hand and contest his shots where his small reach won't do him any favors.

You probably said this after Kobe is taken 9th.

LA Lakers is salivating after this draft. How they always get this lucky I will never imagine. We take kid at 5 who looks bust and they take kid at 8 who looks like D. cousins on steroids.

Jerry Buss probably sales his soul to illuminati.

I don't think Exum will bust. I still think he has the potential to be a bigger version of Tony Parker. I just think people were looking for reasons not to like Julius Randle leading up to the draft, when he's a likely double-double machine who will command regular double teams.

Not seeing it, especially the command double teams part. Maybe he will command you pay attention to him while you are boxing out.

I could him becoming a better version of Paul Millsap if he develops a similar skill set, but that is a big if and far from a guarantee.

I was really high on Randle. I was rooting for him to be the pick. I still am curious about how he will turn up to be. But I'm glad the Jazz drafted Exum. Because exactly the opposite of Randle, I was down on him, saw him overrated and then I realized he was rockingly fast. Randle has time to reach a certain level of BBIQ, especially down low force plays might be a trouble for him like Kanter, so he would need to keep his head up and see his teammates (is that an infection you get caught in Kentucky court?), but I can see an at least good level of NBA career for his future.

High floor, low ceiling.

Yep.

Agree.

Randle will be a productive player. Might even make an all-star game or two. But he's not going to be a top-5 player at his position. He would have been a a "safe" pick for Utah - had they believed Kanter was a bust.

On the other hand, Exum is truly a big gamble. With his size he can be an elite PG - or he can be a bust. Have to give Greg and Dennis credit for taking a HUGE gamble. Utah used to be a risk-averse franchise. I think we've seen some bold moves and major changes to the organizational structure and focus.

I remembered PKM saying at the start of the college season that Randle can knock down some 3's.

Unfortunately Calipari never let him shoot that shot - it's a real pity because I really think an inside/outside game can really turn him into a pretty special player in the NBA.

Yeah, that info was, like, really inaccurate

Randle has a 3pt shot worth working on.. but not one he should be shooting right now.

Kanter is the one that should be shootin the rock from downtownz.
