LOL! I was going to make a thread exactly like Stoked - only teams and game time, no pics, just to be amusing (and annoying).

What does everyone look for when they tune into a preseason game? Obviously all preseason performances are to be taken relatively lightly, but I watch anyways just because basketball is back! To be honest, the one thing I don't want to see besides injuries is Enes shooting threes. I really think the best attribute to his game, and the one that translates now into the NBA is his ability to score inside. Stay there, Enes.

I want to see lots of Gobert, Favors, Kanter, Hayward, Hood, Burks, Burke and Exum. Round out the roster with Booker, Clark, Evans, Motum, and a pair of wings. That's 14 players.

I feel like Rudy's emergence in the FIBA's will end up being the worst thing for us Jazz fans lol. We all wanted to see a lot more of him during last year's train wreck and we all saw those glimpses. But he was so incredibly raw. He isn't remotely close to a finished product so I hope our expectations for this season won't be out of whack. Maybe I'm just trying to talk myself off the ledge for when he isn't producing night-in and night-out this year. But I honestly think he can help us win games and be an impact player this year so my expectations of him this season are a lot higher now than before the FIBA's started.

Since Quin has not announced a starting lineup yet, I think we ought to try to be smarter than the coach and name our starting lineup...

Gobert
Favors
Hood
Hayward
Burke

Why be on that ledge at all?

The average age of this team (current 18 man roster) is 23.5 With the core group (Favors, Kanter, Gobert, Booker, Hayward, Hood, Burks, Exum and Burke) being an average of 22.3.

This includes two rookies and two sophmores. This team is young and inexperienced with a rookie coach. It is going to be wild and bumpy. Sit back, watch them grow and enjoy the ride.

No need for a ledge, just some drinks and food.

Buckle up.

Well, I wanted to see a lot of Felix and Clark. Going to be a real disappointment for me.

Seriously, the two things I'll be watching for are defensive effort and ball movement. As Stoked noted, this team is young and raw. There will be bumps in the road and a LOT of losses.

And for once, I also agree with HighlandHomie (I know, pigs must be flying above the ESA). I LOVE Gobert. I was predicting he'd be the steal of the draft. But I have very modest expectations for him this year. He was only used in half the games last year, so I'll be happy if he's progressed to being a 15 min/per regular backup to Favors.

I just want to see maximum effort from every player and a different mindset than what we saw last March/April. The final scores don't really matter.

I want to see if they actually play with pace, pass, and purpose. Couldn't see **** last night.

Definitely excited to see Exum, Hood, Gobert, Felix (sigh), Burke, and Kanter. I don't expect to see a whole lot from the more established players.

Could see very little last night, but they certainly didn't play with pace, unless they were going for a snail's pace. A lot of shots with less than 5-8 seconds on the shot clock last night.
