What's new

For stoked GAME THREAD!!

gimme a break. If you don't think the comments have ranged well beyond this one game, then you pay less attention than I thought.

Oh naos

Has anyone declared his future?

Christ, you can't question or voice anything without being jumped on anymore.

Go re read the last few pages of this thread. Plenty of doubt on who he will become. Perhaps "declare" was too strong of a word, but idgf.

Fishon still coming off that ambien. Maybe he needs to reread the thread as well. A little retarded in here.

Fish, there was posters here talking about Exum busting.

Every ****ing year this happens. God it pisses me the **** off.

Speaking of which-- anybody out there still okay with trading Burke for a late 1st rounder?

Burke = carrreir baqup lolzz

Players improve after their first few games? No ****ing way. Impossible.

With that said, Cy does raise an important point in that Exum hasn't seemed as quick as the likes of John Wall, of Westbrook.

But I think that could be still confidence as of this point.

Burke looked legit last night. Really good. I was a big fan of his up through summer league and then started to think he was just going to be a back up, but last night he looked like a top 10-15 pg.

My faith never faltered. People forget the jump Burke made between his first and second years of college.

He'll improve again.

I'll be the first to line up for some Burke Crow. I started losing faith by about game 60 last year. His defense, all-around timing, and shooting looks much better so far. Very happy.

Like I said, I view him a being a pretty fast player, just not comparable to the upper echelon of fast players.

It's just weird that a player completely abandons what was originally thought to be his strength.

There was one play towards the end of the game where he beat his man and the only person between him and the basket was Big Baby Davis, and Davis didn't even have a good angle to defend Exum if he wanted to take it to the rim, but instead Exum just slows down and passes out to someone who wasn't even open for a shot.

Again, I'm not worried about Exum. I don't think he sucks. I don't think he is a bust. I don't understand some people on here making hyperboles about posters making slightly critical comments.

To be honest I think he is very timid right now. If you remember SL he was taking it to the rim hard. Well one of those times he got fouled really hard in the back of the head and sent to the court. I don't remember who they were playing, I think it was Milwaukee. But since then he has seemed very timid. Something he has to get past mentally. He is not only just 19. But he's also a mere twig among men.

By no means am I comparing Kobe and Exums skill set, but they are similar in age and hype. I pulled Kobe's rookie game log just to see how rough it was for him. His December and February were atrocious. I hope we fans understand this is a growing process for him. We will see the brilliance with the bad and will just have to be patient. Not saying we should not criticize him at all, but any bird brain calling him a bust at any point in the next few years is dumb.

I was sold on him after his performance leading Michigan to the title game. He got completely ****ed by the refs in the title game, but was still a beast. He was legendary against KU as well. I'm with ya - my faith in him has never faltered. I haven't/won't call any of our young guys a bust - but I think concern with Kanter shooting three's and Exum's lack of PG skills (currently) is legitimate. I definitely love them both though and think they can turn into important, impact players for us.

Kanter needs a 3 point shot to be an impact player. Otherwise he clogs the lane too much with our other bigs and is D is deficient. Hitting the 3 consistently will make immensely more valuable.

And what Trey did in college tournaments does not mean too much now. He started great last year and then the league caught up to him. I do hope he has turned a corner though and works out great.

started to think he was just going to be a back up

Don't do that please. That would be like trying to predict how good a player is going to be after only one season. Total No No in my book.

Dang, you judged a player too early as well? Well i'll be damned. You learned from your mistake at least
