What's new

Jazz claim Joe Ingles and Jordan Hamilton off waivers.

Hamilton is interesting... He's one of the guys I wanted the Jazz to pick up on the cheap. Getting one of Exum's buddies will build some good will and potentially help with mentoring type stuff... never seen the dude play. Felix really looked bad... i always kinda thought we'd carry one of the Murray/Felix group, but not both.

Hamilton was very highly regarded coming out of high school. He was even mocked fairly high coming out of college. Not sure why he hasn't put it together.

Wow, wow, wow. Ingles is a great addition folks.

He has some defensive deficiencies and it could be more exposed in the NBA, but you can trust me there are many other reasons that make this a great move. You are going to love him. He is an ex-Barca player, a crucial member of the Boomers and he was one of the fav players of David Blatt on the last year's Euroleague champion team. He's a crafty, very smart lefty player. He has nice play-making abilities ala our precious Gordo and he is excellent at P&R offense. Actually forget all, just think a Hayward Lite with sub par defense with being less TO prone.

Two things he's even better than Hayward are his dynamic shooting(he's really good at that) and his Euro-Cuts. (plus maybe his length, 6'8" with 6'10" wingspan).

But most importantly, he is FUN to watch. Believe me if he can adapt to the NBA game, the Jazz will be even more exciting and enjoyable to watch this season. I might be over-reacting now and sound like I'm overrating him but no, I'm REALLY happy with this news.

I love the Joe Ingles pick up. He's got a great stroke and a high basketball IQ.

+1

A sort of poor man's ginobli - very good handler and penetrator for his size, but can also shoot - can be a bit streaky though - was the floor/team leader on aussie team at world champs and played very well.

Is a pretty similar player to hood - but more experienced and stronger - provides good depth - I wonder if quin thinks he might be able to play the stretch four - might struggle on defence.

Is from my hometown here in Melbourne. I assume the jazz brass saw him a lot at world champs and got to appreciate him.

All we need is for brock to be resigned, trade kanter for bogut, get patty mills in to be a back up - draft simmons and thon maker in the next two years and we will be the downunder jazz!

Sad to see Felix go as he's a good defender but he did suck during the preseason (coming off an injury doesn't help).

I know nothing about Ingles.

Hamilton can hit the three but he takes a lot of stupid shots (watched a decent amount of Nuggets games). I don't remember him being good or bad on defense so he's probably OK there. I mainly remember him being an inconsistent shooter with bad shot selection. Though when he plays well he can score 20 in 20 minutes - probably why he got signed. He can be our Michael Beasley - put him in when nothing's going right and see what happens.

The Jazz by cutting Felix paid his $816k contract. That's probably a first for this franchise, we usually don't "waste" money like that.

Somebody may have already mentioned this, but I remember KOC liked Jordan Hamilton when he was in the draft. That was around the time there where reports about Coach Barnes talking to Sloan about how to design an offense.

Felix looked like a spazz who couldn't handle the big stage. He may be good, but when you are battling for a roster spot you have to make the most of any opportunity you get.

Knowing something about the Nuggets, would you prefer Hamilton or Quincy Miller? Wonder if the Jazz were hoping to get Miller off waivers (though that won't be known until Wednesday), as he's younger/longer/probably more potential, though less production at this point.

Interesting, very interesting. It makes one wonder why they even pulled the trigger on the Felix trade. They could have waived JLIII, Murphy and Thomas easily.

Quincy Miller use to be thought of as having potential. His body never filled out and he is a tweener because of it. I'd rather have Hamilton as his body resembles something that can play in the NBA.

He is better at Hayward at nothing.

The only reason we got this guy is because of Exum, let's be honest.

What I thought as well. I am surprised that he couldn't find a place in Clippers bench. He should be better then Hedo at least.

Do we really care who sits on the inactive list? If any of these guys become regular rotation players, then something bad has happened to one or more of our top 10 players.
