Following potential 2015 draftees

Go watch Turner run or play defense on the perimeter. He would get smoked as a PF on the defensive end.

Friday UK plays Texas. Will be a great opportunity to see future pros vs. future pros.

Could be an awful game to watch, though, considering UK is #1 in the nation in defense holding opponents to 27.9% and Texas is #2 holding opponents to 29.8%

The game could wind up having a final score resembling hockey.

Stanley Johnson had a good game tonight - 18pts(6/9 shooting, 3/4 from 3), 8 rbs, 1 ast, 2 stl in just 26 minutes of play. After the relatively slow start, he's now shooting 51% for the season and 42% from 3.

I don't know if Sabonis will be eligible this year, but he had a 14pt(6/6)/ 4 rbs in 22 mins game ... he might be an interesting prospect, too.

Wow he's shooting well... if he can keep that up he could be in conversation for top 3 pick.

I'll go first.

UK - 69
UT - 61

That's almost a loss considering our closest game this year was a 19pt victory.

If he's shooting 38+ from 3, definitely. He adds himself to the upper echelon. Okafor, Mudiay, Towns, Johnson.

Absolutely. What's not to like? If Gobert can start, Favors can extend that range and play the 4. Why not??? He's our missing piece. We need that defensive SF on the perimeter who can slash and knock down occasional 3's.

We don't have a true PF on the roster, imo. But Ima dick. so..

Apparently Chad Ford said Towns has been underwhelming so far - any truth to that? Stanley Johnson seems to at least has 'hunger'.

These guys only get about 17 minutes per game.. so stats watchers yawn. Per 36 he is averaging about 15pts, 15rbs, and 6.5blks.

Here are some highlights from our last game. Towns is #12. Notice his passing.. ELITE. Also, at the 2:15 mark.. check it out.

If I'm honest I'm probably most concerned with his athleticism. He doesn't seems to have Okafor's size and post game, meaning he'll have to rely on his athleticism and explosiveness to succeed in the next level? Does he have THAT?

Hold up. He has a great post game. Not Okafor's post arsenal, but way above where he should be at his age. Also, he is 7' and 255 lbs.. hardly lacking size. Athletic? Nah.. but more so than Okafor.

Btw, I am NOT calling him a better pick than Jahlil.. just drawing the comps.

I'd say it's like this;

Okafor better post moves.
Towns better perimeter skills.
Towns a better post defender.
Okafor stronger.
Towns better court vision/passer.

As I have said many times, Okafor is a near can't miss.. he's just too skilled in the post.

IF Towns continues to get stronger, can continue to show elite level passing for a big.. and hit from the perimeter.. the sky's the limit..

If.

OK, but I need to see him do that consistently in a real game before I'll bite though.

Not going to happen at UK.

Two reasons;

- Cal knows we're better having him in the paint than launching 3's.
- Leave room to grow his game and let the scouts salivate over the unknown.
