Russell is averaging 5.1 assists, that's insane.
He's also shooting 48% FG and 43% from 3 on 5 attempts per game!!! He's my dark horse and my pick if we drop in the lottery to 8-9...
Really good matchup this weekend to watch - Ohio State vs North Carolina. Russel vs Marcus Paige.

Him using the opponent's player getting back in defense as a moving screen going down to the rim was hilarious at 5:50...
His off the ball defense is elite - denying the ball to his man, beating the pindown, defensive stance and technique, playing the passing lanes, help defense and rotations. On the ball, sometimes gets beat off the dribble. I think his thick body hinders him there and he might not be as quick as it is ideal for the position, but he makes up for it by effort and not giving up on plays and catching up enough to contest most shots(sometimes he misses the contest due lack of anticipation, while trying to catch up). His contests on pull up jumpers are really good and opponents almost always have a hand in their face while shooting.
I am not ready to say if he's as elite as Gordon was last year.
Anyone in on Myles Turner... Athletic, long, really good shooter... dude is killing it against lesser comp and I know he sucked against Kentucky, but I think he's 4th or 5th on my list. Has a really good stroke and quick release, could be a stretch 4 or 5 and be a good defender.

He also plays like a *****.
I want a player with some type of an attitude. No more soft, nice guys.
The Hamilton kid from UConn looked pretty good to me tonight.Okafor is a beast
It would be pretty sweet to get Okafor.
I'm increasingly becoming a fan of Hezonja for the modern NBA. Watching the Warriors and Thunder go at it, it's apparent to me how the game has changed, with teams relying on spacing, quick ball movement, outside shooting and slashing. A 6'8" highly skilled athlete who can shoot 3s, get all the way on top of the rim, or make a play for a teammate off the dribble, while switching on defense and defending multiple positions----this is the future of the NBA.
If we're comparing Winslow, Johnson and Hezonja, I'd pick the one who's quickest, best off the dribble, shoots best and has the most versatility. I think that's probably Hezonja.
I agree that Porzingis also looks like he can be a real force in the league. The question with him is what he's going to do when a defender crowds him and gets right in his face. Can he put the ball on the floor and make a play off the dribble? If he can, he could be awesome.
He's pretty crafty. He handles and shoots well. That said, is he really a step up from Burks or Hood overall?
