What's new

1/10/2015: Jazz @ Rockets 6PM MST

He doesn't even play the same position. Could be a good backup energy SG though.

My point is we're playing the 10-day contract guys over our main guys. Favors was having a good game and was our best player for most the time he was on the floor. He's only played 18 minutes.

Meanwhile, Williams and Millsap have each played more minutes, have combined to shoot 4/17 and have 7 turnovers between them.

Jazz didn't even try to bring Favors back when they had Houston's lead down to 5 pts.

Yep, I see it too. Now for Exum to start getting his **** together.
I don't have alot of hope for him this season

Exum had a brutal night! It's been a while since I've even seen "flashes" from him. Although his D is usually good.

My post referenced that he kept us afloat in that first half. That was the stretch I was thinking of.

Not sure why you bothered addressing my post by referring to a completely different part of the game then, bruh.

Even the part you were thinking of could not have been too bad since kanter was minus 6 just a couple of minutes ago in this 4th quarter.

Well you're gonna have to re-watch the game. Straight-up, his D was pretty ****ty in the 2nd quarter. At least IMO.

He played a good game. Guarded howard alot while in the game (howard had 8 pts) and in his first game back he scored 16 and grabbed 6 boards in 21 minutes on 6-10 shooting.

His help-defense was ****, as always. Stats won't say this discretely, but the film will.

Nice to see kanter back on the court and playing well anyhow

It is. Sucks that nearly the entire team sucked today. I'm not singling Kanter out as him being the worst-- just think you're being disingenuous with how you're describing his play today.

I actually I made the originally post silly when I said that kanter kept us afloat for a stretch in the first half. You disagreed. I went back and checked and found that I was correct

Kanter played well. Especially for his first game back. Check the box score. Stats might not tell the whole story but they do mean something. Also who in the rockets killed us? Was it kanters man? I think we had alot of turnovers right? How many did kanter have?

Yet you went back and said nothing to disprove my point. Meaning i'm probably correct.

I agree with you

I am a Jazz fans from China
I love the Jazz

Do you not understand how team defense works? If PG/SGs are coming off picks and they're slicing towards the rim, it's up to the 4 and the 5 to stop them. Yet we're saying that we are supposed to judge how Kanter played defensively purely off of the points scored by a center who was guarded by two other centers (both of which are among the best defenders in the NBA)?

Ridiculous, dude.

I think we had alot of turnovers right? How many did kanter have?

Didn't see him have very many, if any. Good for him.

Off this logic tho, Elliot Williams had fewer turnovers than Millsap. Which of the two should we keep?

Lol.
I went back and watched the part that I was taking about when I made my original post talking about kanter keeping us afloat for a stretch in the first half. Then I came back to watch the rest of the game.

I wish that I didn't delete the game already and I would go back and watch all the second quarter.

I think sometimes people believe something about a player and so then when they watch the game they tend to see the things that they want to see to confirm thier opinion

Play hard or sit on the bench. It's not a novel idea.

But I didn't really see the Jazz playing soft (exept Exum). They just sucked. Williams most of all. Favors was our best player by far tonight, and he sat on the bench forever. I thought someone mentioned that he may have been injured, so that might explain it. I don't see a clear message to the team by playing Williams and throwing in the towel when McHale brought his starters back in. We had it down to 9 with about six minutes left. He took Rudy out, the Rockets starters came back, Williams guarded Harden, game over. If Quin brings in Favors and Hayward with Millsap on the quart, who knows. Maybe he just chose to rest his players.

I'm saying that when kanter was on the court in the first half the jazz played the rockets pretty even.
I wonder if you understand that scoring points help win games too.
