Following potential 2015 draftees

How do D'Angelo's steals and rebounds compare to Beal?

Per 40 mins:
Russell: 2.1 steals, 0.2 blocks
Beal: 1.6 steals, 1.0 blocks

I don't remember if Florida played man or zone defense with Beal. With Russell, OSU plays zone so it's somewhat understandable that he'd get inflated steals and deflated blocks numbers. His length might have something to do with the high number of steals, and his lack of athleticism might have something to do with his lack of blocks...

He's much better! He's better than Harden and Curry too... purely offensive stats-wise... Beal probably was better defensively.

GGR.

GO. GET. RUSSELL.

Rather than just leaving it at that, I'll expound. My bi-polar *** today thinks Russell is the perfect fit for this team. We need a stud scorer. Check. This system can really use guys who can play multiple positions. Check. We really need multi-faceted players, specifically guys who can pass, rebound and shoot the three. Check, check, check. And while I want a great defensive team, I was thinking about it more, and questioned if the Spurs are loaded with studly defensive players. Don't get me wrong, Duncan and Leonard are. But Parker? Ginobili? Diaw? I think proper coaching can teach and motivate guys to play defense to the best of their ability as part of a great team defense.

Exum
Russell
Hayward
Favors
Gobert

That lineup could have three stud defenders with Hayward being above average and hopefully Russell being average. It offers three legit three point shooters, three legit passers, really good rebounding. Okay, I'll stop there. I really like the balance that lineup offers. Throw in Kanter, Burks, and Hood off the bench along with maybe one cheaper yet key vet this off-season and this could be a hell of a team.

Unrelated to draft thread, but I don't wanna make a new thread, I want Langston Galloway. Why couldn't we have signed him? Dammit mane.

Start looking at guys in the 8-12 range. No way this team can tank its way to a top 5 pick barring lottery magic.

I think Russell would be a great fit. A sharp shooter who can also create would solidify the starting unit. I think Exum and Russell would compliment each other nicely and god knows we could use a lights out shooter for Gobert and Favors to pass it out to when the defense collapses.

Agree. Of all the teams currently in the 5-12 range, the Jazz are the best. Wouldn't be a stretch to expect Utah to finish ahead of all the EC lottery teams and catch Sacramento and Denver.

FWIW, D'Angelo Russell looks like a better prospect as a freshman to me than Brad Beal did. I'd have to go look up their numbers to really compare them.

Way more dynamic.

DX now has Booker at #14 on their mock draft, with Booker sliding ahead of Levert.

Kind of surprised, tbh. Not because he doesn't deserve it or because of his stats/minutes, but because (loosely related to the aforementioned) he has had limited ability to showcase his full arsenal. He is a vastly underrated slasher and defender. Not saying he's elite, just that those aspects are not yet well known. He, too, is just an insanely talented scorer. Most UK fans (even the hand full of sane ones) are already saying Booker is the best shooter in UK history. A little early for that crown, but impossible to discount it too.

Stanley Johnson with another good night.

18 points, 9 rebounds, 50% FG, 8/9 FT

out of range doe

Sounds like Hezonja is coming next year

NBA prospect Mario Hezonja -- who had an offer from Kentucky -- said he'd be the #1 pick out of college: https://www.basketballinsiders.com/mario-hezonja-undecided-on-2015-nba-draft/

Though Mario Hezonja is undecided about the 2015 draft, I'm hearing he's NBA bound next season.

Mario Hezonja buried on Barcelona's bench, but upon entering nails a deep contested 3 w/his first touch regardless. Never lacking confidence

Hezonja battling on offensive glass and begging his teammates for a touch every time down. Hungry hungry scorer. There's another spot-up 3.

Strong 8 minute stretch to finish off half for Mario Hezonja on both ends of floor vs Red Star (Euroleague). Sh/could be playing a lot more.

BTW, does anyone know if you can embed tweets on this forum? Other forums have a [tweet][/tweet] code, but I'm not sure if this one does.

Yes, you can. I don't know how.

hahahahahahahhaha false.

Everyone that gets an offer from UK goes to UK. Keep dreaming, Hez.

Why do you think Mario would lie about that? Would saying this actually boost his draft stock? Seems like a weird thing to make up, if he did.

Booker rising and Hezonja coming over is good news for our slipping draft position.

Has anyone made the Booker/Klay comparison yet? Or am I the first?
