Jazz At Trailblazers - 8 PM Mountain Time, Root Sports

We have to be happy with the effort these guys gave. We're gettin' there guys. Was Rudy's defense on Aldridge as good as it sounded?

Still it is awesome we could play Trailblazers this close with Kanter starting and Burke attempting 17 shots.

Few too many missed free throws one which got away- still great effort, Rudy did a heck of a job making Aldridge earn every bucket.

Umm, have you not seen how they have played it every time down the stretch?

Why not call the same play for Hayward?

It's more of Snyder's fault than Burke's, IMO.

What are you arguing here, exactly? That when the PnR breaks down and Trey has a man on him, Snyder still wants him to shoot a contested shot?

I don't think Snyder would be criticizing Trey for forcing shots if he was also telling him to force shots.

You'll have to see it for yourself. It was something to behold.

Decent game. But Utah probably gonna get spanked big time tomorrow.

I have a feeling you're right. Rudy has proven to have a great motor, so hopefully, he can bring it against their bigs. I have a feeling Hayward will suck though.

If it weren't for all of the load of bs calls from the refs, especially the ones that they called on Exum, we would have won.

I honestly have not often seen anything like that, almost ever. Aldridge was completely dominant and Rudy shut him down just about completely. Aldridge couldn't move without being smothered and started to just get rid of the ball rather than challenge Gobert.

Trey Burke at +19. So there ya go. . .

Yeah, he played really well for most of the game. The Burke hate can get kind of ridiculous. He helped keep us in the game for the most part. He wasn't good to end it, but people are acting like he was awful the entire game.

Snyder is doing a great job with what he has to work with. This roster really is garbage.

He was a home run hire - and not having Burks (and even Hood) has been a gaping hole. We knew a lot of the youngsters would still be developing. Next year will be a critical one. Anything under 41 wins will be a disappointment. The key will be Trey either figuring it out, or Exum making monumental strides in terms of strength/skill. The former is more likely, but I'd imagine we bring a proven PG in in the offseason regardless.

Drawing anything from unadjusted +/- from a single game sample size is pretty silly. There are so many variables that go into it, perhaps the biggest of which in tonight's game being that Burke was playing heavy minutes against one of the worst benches in the NBA.

Man on him? Almost every shot Burke took out of the PNR was wide open.

The argument is that we all know how the Blazer's play a pick n roll. They drop their big back and give up the midrange jump shot. In crunch time they did this while playing tight perimeter defense, pretty much forcing the Jazz's hand into midrange jumpers. Trey had been hitting them most of the night. Snyder must have liked that shot because it was the easiest shot to get throughout the game since it was always there. If he didn't want that shot to happen, he shouldn't have been calling that play because that is what that play had resulted in for most of the game.

What's funny is that I keep forgetting this, and have confidence in this team, that is, I really don't fear any match-ups any more outside of the refs' prima donna calls.
