Jazz At Trailblazers - 8 PM Mountain Time, Root Sports

Ingles was supposedly a good shooter in top European leagues. No reason why he can't be a good shooter in the NBA other than he doesn't have the confidence in his ability to get his shot off.

He has 35% career average for 3pt. His average this year is 31%. So it's not THAT far off. And isn't the NBA three point line farther than the international one? That might explain the drop.

Burke is going to be a superlative backup pg with the ability to score off the bench and start in case on injury. We need a guy like that. and picking him # 9 in a draft where we got the best player at #22 doesn't really break my heart.

Superlative might be strong but this is a good post, imo. Credit has to also go to Quin for recognizing this and making it happen.

it's easier to hate on Burke because he's a serial chucker with an inflated sense of his own importance and a terrible defensive liability. The bottom line is that Trey Burke cannot be taking more shots than Gordon Hayward and consistently shooting his team out of the game. Personal viewpoint of whether it's courage to keep shooting so much or just plain stupidity

So who should take shots then? Should we just give Hayward the ball all the time and let him take the shots (like last year when his % where awful)?

Burke takes bad shots so other players don't have to. We just don't have any shot creator outside of Hayward other than Burke on the team. So if Hayward isn't creating offense or taking a shot, it kind of has to be Burke. Hayward doesn't want/can't do all the work 100% of the time.

Does Burke bring some of these bad shots on himself? Yeah, but it's not all his fault. The team makeup partially forces a lot of these shots on him.

Just finished watching. Jazz could have won if they didn't play burke the last 5 minutes. Hayward did not get the ball enough because he was forcing up bricks, and his defense on Lillard was horrible. Other than that, fun game. Jazz had way too many unforced turnovers in the second half though.

Oh, and I hate that Matthews is on the Blazers. Think if the Jazz had him instead of Ingles (I know the Jazz wouldn't have the same team, but it still hurts they lost him for nothing)

50% of all Burke hate needs to be given to Exum.

I'm trying not to be hard on the dude, but, ****, is he being a ****y. He's about as useful as a third nipple out there. I don't see any fire in him and he seems fine making lazy-*** passes out of passiveness. Pun intended. The fact that he is not showing aggression or fire in one out of 15 games is what's bugging me the most.

I was watching the post game and wow Quin scares me.

He is like Joker from Dark Knight scary.

Or like you might find him on his phone texting "All work and no play makes Quin a dull boy" kind of scary.

They ask him a question and his left eye starts to twitch and he absently picks at his eyebrow with a shaky hand. His good eye looks straight at the reporter, while the other eye drifts away. His face contorts to force a smile, then a polite nod. But the skin cannot hide the fiery fury that lies just inside, ready to burst with an eruption like a powerful hellish explosion unleashed on the poor unknowing beat writer. I love our coach, I thinks he is a genius, but I would cower in his presence.

Dante's season in a GIF:

You can see the burst of speed, but you can also see him go scared ****less to the basket... He looked 3 times for trailers to pass to. At some point he just needs to realize he must go strong to the rim and whatever happens happens... With his speed I bet in most cases they simply won't be able to catch him.

BTW, after seeing what Rudy just did to Aldridge is there anyone left that thinks that Giannis is a better player than Rudy?

Giannis has a lot of potential but at this point he's a wing who can't shoot and is more flash than substance. I think Rudy could start for about half the playoff teams in the league.

I hope this is being blown out of proportion. I really, really don't want Quin to burn himself out.

lol

Lillard turned it on. Exum wasn't going to stop him and Exum was an offensive burden. Srsly I've been bitchin about Burke longer than most but let's not be ridiculous. Nobody on our roster was going to keep Lillard from doing that tonight. The shots that he was hitting weren't easy. Dude is a stud. He beat us.

To be fair, the Jazz aren't being held back by their frontcourt, still, it's a travesty that Rudy isn't starting.

I guess with Exum and Ingles starting, you need Kanter's scoring. If Burks or Hood were healthy and ready to start, then Rudy and Favors should be starting for sure. I love the future lineup of Exum, Hood (or next years draft pick), Favors, Hayward and Rudy. Burks as your 6th man, Kanter as well (if not too expensive). Our starting lineup could be the best defensive team in the league.

I was more upset about Burke forcing up shots early in the clock. Who knows if Exum would have done better or not, but at least someone else would have been taking shots at the end.

Burke was in so that the Blazers couldn't double team Hayward. Quin made the right call by playing Burke.

Gordon Hayward forcing up bricks? As in the guy that shot 10 for 16, and 3 of 4 from the perimeter? Also, I don't want to hear **** about his defense... Ever. Dude may not be elite on defense, but he sure as hell never stops playing.

Another way to look at it

Our second Unit outscored Portland 18-5 in the first half. Rudy had a lot to do with holding them to 5.

He was referring to Burke.
