So the Thunder Writer says jones and lamb were NOT traded. Thunders roster stands at 16 players with Novak.

Something seems off.

The Thunder have 16 players on the roster, so it seems likely Steve Novak would be bought out.

As @kpelton noted, you have to have a roster spot to add Novak into, so maybe Ish Smith got waived?

I'll also add - Jackson is going to be due a contract. Lindsey likely wouldn't want to spend the cash on him.

What if we get hte 2017 lottery pick from the THunder instead?

Durant and Westbrook both bail on the team because the owners are cheap, they suck deck in 2017 and we get the 1st overall pick.

*LOCKE JUST ANNOUNCED WE GET THE THUNDER'S !ST ROUND PICK IN THE FUTURE, NOT DETROITS*

This was definitely the right move, I believe there's still room for some growth on Favor's offensive game and we are going to get much better in defense. Speaking of which, how foolish has this trade make David Locke look, selling empty stats on Kanter's D. Many pleasant lols today.

I also sense that team chemistry is going to bloom, team is going to get closer and Gobert gonna kick some behind!

The Jazz do too, it's just delayed. They get cap space which they can use to sign a real player this summer.

The cap hold on Enes was 11M, the salary for Novak is 3.7M. So that frees up 15M for free agents. I will take a guess and say we can get something better for 15M than Enes!

Locke says its an OKC 1st rounder... won't be conveyed until 2017 or 2018. I'm less happy about the deal, but oh well. Locke could be wrong... he not that smart sometimes.

You realize there will be people getting his minutes, right? It's not like they will be playing 4 on 5. And when players get more minutes they tend to score more.

Can you give me a break down analysis of this please? I'm not sure I understand...

Really happy for Enes. He now has nothing left as an excuse as he always talked about how bad he felt about losing. He either starts winning now, if he can't, he should quit playing basketball.

Cap space has never been less valuable than it is right now.

The problem is that when the cap space goes up in another year, it goes up for everyone, so Jazz don't gain any advantage. Which means it is at a disadvantage, because now it has to compete with every other team, including the New York's LA's, Miami's etc. of the world for the same pool of talent. We aren't getting any big time FAs out of this.

My faith in DL has just dropped precipitously. He (they) must have concluded that Kanter just wasn't going to improve enough to be in their long-term plans, and so better get something (anything) for him now rather than nothing in RFA. I'm tired of banking my hopes on future draft picks. What are the odds that we get someone at, say, 15 that is better than Kanter? I can't help but feel that DL allowed the Jazz to get fleeced.

I feel like Detroit should have had to add some picks... don't tell me OKC got Detroit's pick.
