2024 NBA Draft Mega Thread

Is the big man finally back?!

Hard not to be increasingly positive on those guys given the absolute crap at the top of the draft board this year.

A bruisin Brook Lopez. In this draft, sign me up. He's a monster with a shot. And you won't get that type of player in 2025. I change my mind. I think he is the allstar pick that was missed. He's a player that would stand out with unique skills for the next 5 years. No one like him. You can play Lauri as backup 5 and play fast whenever you need it.

Wait....Lauri..shooter. Hendricks...shooter...and Edey...shooter. Sensa ..projected elite shooter. That could work with Kris Dunn and....Castle.

I still like Kessler but would trade him to upgrade to either Clingan or Sarr who would both fit better what Hardy wants to do.
Sarr is switchable while Clingan has a much better offensive skillset than Kessler.

We have a chance to follow the Knicks model.

Get Clingan, Castle, and Karaban.

Castle+Edey might be doable but grabbing both Clingan+Castle seems way too optimistic.

No question. Mostly just joking.

With Zach Edey, you pretty much need to design your team around him -- slow the pace, play in the half court, dump the ball in, let him draw defenders, etc. It's like building around Yao Ming. It's definitely a zig to everyone else's zag.

No you don't. You can just draft him and play him like a regular backup center. You have to play drop, but that's the case with a lot of bigs.

Kessler can't score outside of 5 feet. It's a problem. He's also been soft when he needs to be assertive.

Havent been a Ware guy all year, but he is measuring and testing well.
I just get the feeling he doesn't love basketball or just doesn't have the motor. Maybe there is a maturity issue there or something. On paper he seems like top 10 guy.

No, it was a known thing he had a small wingspan near equal to his height. He might be slightly taller than listed, but dont expect a change in wingspan.
The thing with Castle that tripped me up is he makes plays above the rim and stuff. Collier is very much a below the rim dude.

He pretty much measured as expected.
Yes... was hoping maybe there was an inch or two surprise somewhere to push him up. He's at the tipping point for his position so a little boost would help.
