If it's going to happen early season Collier needs to have an incredible summer league.

I went with 20-30. The dude is legit and it's clear he takes major pride in being a facilitator. I don't think his scoring is going to be crazy his rookie season but his +- will be better than the other guards and that will secure his spot.

All three of our 2024 picks strike me as guys who want to win more than they want personal accolades.

Why are folks so sure that Collier is not only destined to be the starting PG in the NBA but will do it in a hurry? Before he even played a single game for the Jazz? Just remember that the Jazz were not the only team sorely needing a PG: Orlando, Miami, San Antonio, Minnesota and Phoenix also needed a floor general. All of them had an opportunity to draft Collier and all decided to pass. If Collier was such a slam dunk as a quality starting PG he would have been selected much higher than 29.

I am all for having high expectations for Collier but let him play first some games in the SL and preseason before we are ready to anoint him as a starting PG in 24-25.

Weren't injuries why he dropped? At one point last year he was in the conversation for going #1 overall. Obviously he has something very good.

I put 30-40 because I can’t see Hardy doing it that quickly. That said, if we trade Lauri, then he could from day one. Just start Collier-George-Williams-Hendricks-Filipowski for <15 wins and a surefire top 3 pick.

Who said they are so sure? The question was posed and people answered it. It’s a message board and the webz. Of course people are going to act confident about their responses.

Yeah, but why is the question like that is even asked and being seriously entertained?

For the record, here is the list of players the Jazz drafted in the 25-35 range and who would be the realistic comparison group for Collier: Walter Palmer, Greg Ostertag, Martin Muursep, Jacque Vaughn, Nazr Mohammed, Scott Padgett, CJ Miles, Morris Almond, Jarnell Stokes, Josh Hart, Udoka Azibuike, Santi Adama.

Do we see any world-beaters here? Anyone who EVER (and not just in the first year!) turned out to be a long-term starter for the Jazz except for the ever-frustrating Greg Ostertag? The level of Kool-Aid drinking here does not need to try rivaling the Raptors fans.

You must be fun at parties.

I want to see Collier in SL before making an assessment. I like taking him where we did but he wasn’t someone I was excited about end of lotto. His game is setup so he should be good in SL. If he struggles I think he spends more time in the G than starting. He may get some Ochai starts at the end of the year though.

i mean, Collier has played 41 games. He has started the last 16, so...i guess that means i missed it by one. disappointing, but you can't win them all.
It took him 25 games to understand... Isn't that _exactly_ what you predicted? I'd take a W on that one.
