Following Potential 2025 Draftees

i've watched duke probably more than any team other than rutgers and i'm nearly always unimpressed with maluach. already today in the first 4 minutes, he's been beat badly three times by GT's very much average big man. if defense is really all you do, you have to be better than that.
I don't get Maluach... Like I get it but I don't get it anywhere in the top 10. He's a mid to late first guy imo.

Malauch is very underwhelming, and I dont like him either, but he's coordinated and huge, so I get buying into that and hoping you can teach him basketball.

The potential is ridiculous, that's the only way I could justify something in the #7-#10 range, but he's just so far away.

I can't recall a raw big who averaged something like 8 / 6 in college (in meaningful minutes) turning into a force at the NBA level. Maybe a guy like DeAndre Jordan?

Derek Lively averaged 5 and 5....

I’m just kind of shocked at how low Maluach’s stocks are. When I watch him play live, I see the athleticism, potential, and I also think he doesn’t have motor issues. But his lack of activity stats is very alarming.

I think Sorber is the best C in this draft if his foot checks out.

I dont dislike/have reservations about Malauch becasue of his offense. I think he will be a surefire good offensive big in the NBA. I just question the feel for rim protection.

I don't see the potential I guess. Doesn't shoot it, not amazing hands, poor feel, low activity for size and position... feels like folks are projecting something that isn't there.

Lively protected the rim well and was a pogo stick... so I don't even like that comp. Maluach seems like a basic big that folks are projecting to have all these other things that aren't there because he's "raw".

Shoots 75% from the FT line. That's extremely impressive for a raw big his size.

Decent comp. And I think he went #12-#13 which seems "about right" to me for someone like Maluach. Would also say Lively's NBA production so far is "about right" for a raw guy picked #12.

Just can't do the mental gymnastics required to put him in the top 5-8 where some folks have.

Lively averaged 5.7 stocks/40, had a good AST/TOV ratio for a big, and had a 6.8 DBPM. Offensively Maluach can be Lively but defensively (where Lively produces most of his value) they were in different worlds.
