I think Hardy being in on this tank as blatantly as he is is dangerous business.

Losing culture is definitely creeping up on us and its gonna be hard for Will to demand hard work and accountability from the players when he coaches to lose..

The question then becomes can he flip the switch when it needs to be flipped? I hope he doesnt turn into sacrificial lamb here where we need to fire him to change the culture.
 
Absolutely. The spiel is always "players and coaches don't tank, the front office does". But Hardy is tanking so, so hard, much harder than he even needs to.

Hardy will obviously stay on for next season, because more tanking. And then he's out. Good luck getting another job with a resume of "I ordered Kessler to shoot six threes a game".
 
The whole Jazz team is in on the tank at this point. They only play hard in spurts. Lauri only playing in 1st halves and Walker hoisting 5 or 6 3PAs per game shows that they're treating these games as glorified practice scrimmages. (He's 1/11 btw.)

I think he can flip the switch. And I think the players can too. I think most players prefer to win.
I bet they are chomping at the bit to get back to trying to win.
 
I think the worry about “losing culture” is misplaced. It seems to me that this becomes a thing when players stop being held accountable/start tuning out their head coach. I’d be more worried if we had bigger egos on the team or if there were any kind of sign that the Jazz org is losing faith in Hardy.

I guess maybe it helps that the team is largely built on reclamation projects and young guys who have work to do to prove they belong in the league.

In that regard, more dangerous for him I'd guess
 
Tre Jones gonna get paid in the summer. Both him and Giddey are possible names to watch in FA this summer. Would love to see them on the Jazz

Possibly. Not many teams have cap-space (including the Jazz if Collins opts in) and teams will try to tank again.
