The Biden Administration and All Things Politics

For me this thread is full of blank pages recently.
That is a weird brag. Congratulations on the airtightness of your information silo, I guess.

Exercise has been shown in countless studies to be of great benefit in almost every area of life. It is easier to stay in bed than it is to go out and run 5 miles in the morning. It is easier to stay on the couch than it is to lift heavy weights. It is the pushing against things challenging that brings the benefit. A steady diet of broad viewpoints that exercise critical thinking is no different. I can hardly wait for your next screed on how the terrible US medical system is the cause of you steadily becoming less healthy.

Hey folks,
There’s been a lot of chatter about how Democrats wielded power during Biden’s term, and some serious accusations are floating around. Here are a few points that keep coming up, along with what I’ve dug into:

Weaponizing Federal Agencies: Critics claim Biden’s DOJ and FBI were used to target conservatives, like parents protesting at school boards or activists like James O’Keefe.

Hunter Biden Investigations: The House Oversight Committee pushed hard on claims that Joe Biden was complicit in Hunter’s foreign business dealings, alleging over $24 million from China and others through shell companies. They say Biden met associates at least 24 times, but no concrete proof shows Joe profited or altered policy for it. The timeline they released had 19 errors, which undercuts their case.

Economic Policies: Some argue Biden’s spending, like the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan, fueled 20% inflation, hitting families hard. Oversight hearings slammed “Bidenomics” for wasting billions on broadband with no results and imposing DEI requirements that delayed projects.

Executive Overreach: X posts highlight Biden ignoring immigration laws, leading to border chaos, and defying the Supreme Court on student debt forgiveness. His late-term executive orders, like pushing the Equal Rights Amendment, are called desperate power grabs.

Cheers,
PJF

You might feel differently if you dedicated a decade or more of your life to hating Trump on a Jazz forum. If your only friends were the same type of morons that would waste their adult lives making silly Trump jokes on the same forum. If the only positive feedback you got in life came from your interactions with similar morons complaining about Trump for decades you wouldn’t want to just throw that all away. You’d probably try to wall off others so you could carry on with your stupidity. The ship has sunk, they just want to keep thier eyes and ears closed for the last little bit. They are so proud of themselves. Haha

It’s sunk cost. Imagine what thriller and log and fish might have accomplished if they had spent even one tenth of the time they spent here doing something positive or beneficial. They probably spent 10-14 hours a day here for 20 or more years. That’s like 75-100,000 hours they’ve wasted making silly trump jokes. They say it takes 10,000 hours to master a new skill, so these idiots could have mastered 10 new useful skills or hobbies, but instead they mastered being total dish!ts 10X over instead.

It is way of wanting to be that I can't wrap my head around. I know it is not a new phenomenon as the colloquialism "Ignorance is bliss" wasn't coined recently.

Decades and decades ago there was a comedy show in the UK by the troop Spitting Image. They are the same ones who did the puppet work for the music video of Land of Confusion by Genesis. In their show, they had a skit with Ronald Reagan pointing his TV remote at a microwave oven and complaining that nothing was happening in the show. Nancy Reagan said in a sweet voice "that's the microwave, dear". Ronald Reagan said "Oh" and again aimed the remote at the microwave only to still be disappointed. Nancy Reagan says "that is still the microwave". Ronald Reagan replies "it is the microwave on two channels?!?".

That skit reminds me of this place, except they have the power to block Nancy Reagan's pointing out the obvious issue. There was a story in this thread about someone getting swept up by ICE and their family went to a judge to show he was American. The judge said the proof was great but he was being held by ICE and he wasn't an immigration judge. That judge didn't have jurisdiction. The family had to show those exact documents to an immigration judge. Fish then went off on a screed how birth certificates weren't good enough, and social security cards weren't good enough, and green cards weren't good enough, and library cards weren't good enough, and drivers licenses weren't good enough, and grocery store points cards weren't good enough. I know some of the lefties in this place understood that when the judge said he wasn't an immigration judge, they understood the problem wasn't with birth certificates, etc. None of them spoke up because they seem to have a "no telling anyone they are trying to use a TV remote on the microwave" rule, and anyone who would point out the obvious gets labeled a troll.

The skit wasn't part of this music video, but the video is still a good one.

Perfect analogy. The cult members here certainly have a playbook that they would adhere to. They accuse those they disagree with of having alt accounts and they call them trolls. They stick to the narrative and pretend they don’t understand logic for each others benefit. They prop each other up and gang up on and bully anyone that pokes holes in their paper fort. Now they’ve started to wall off their paper fort and they will bully and gang up on anybody that would even dare look outside of the paper fort. They’ve built themselves a prison based on stupid ideas, self pity, incompetence, hatred, and ignorance.
