Just checking in. Is Bollerjack still announcing?

I quit the Jazz and haven’t watched a game for few years because Bollerjack is unbearable and refuses to hear customer input. Utah Jazz refuse to hear customer input. Is it safe to become a fan again or are they still shooting Three throws?

I did not watch a single game this last season. A quiet boycott during the planned down year, so who gives a **** I guess. But yes, Boler just ages like a fine potato salad at a hot summer picnic, no doubt.

Miss u bro.

Fact:
Under Quin Snyder, the Jazz’s offense shoots to the top of the league in skip passes. They become one of the staples of their “advantage offense.” Meanwhile, Bolerhack—the team’s lead communicator with the fans—tone-deafly marched on with his own cute idea that a skip pass is a pass that hits the floor somewhere between the passer and his intended target.

I guess “skip pass” just sounded so cool to him when he was listening to his own voice. “Bounce pass” just couldn’t get the job done.

Not to mention, skip pass is already a thing. One of the many things about the avocation that makes him wealthy that he can't be bothered to learn since college football is so much more important.

Three throws may actually be the most valuable thing in the game, second only to maybe one throws, because you already made the three.

If you’re not willing to be a fan during hard times then don’t bother being one when it’s easy. I’m sure that if the jazz do win the lottery most off you quitters will be Bach singing praises like the rest of us. Don’t act like you’re some holier than thou fan. I don’t want to hear any raw raw from the anti tankers if we get a top two pick.

On a more serious note, Boler doesn’t bother me. It’s easy for me to tune things out. In fact, people getting aggravated by him kind of endears me to him. He may be this or that, but he’s our this or that. With all historical identity being systematically stripped out of this franchise over the past few years, I cherish the things that are actually “ours,” and we’re now reliant on guys like Boler being a connection to the past. I mean we’ve got Thurl, Boone, and Dan Roberts. Is there anything else in this entire franchise connecting us to the past? Boler has worked his way up to 4th in seniority. We’re pretty much to the point where we’ll be honoring Jason Terry as a connection to the past for the 2003 offer sheet he signed with us before Atlanta matched. He’s like one rung below Boler.

I’ll tell you what does drive me nuts about broadcasts: when we don’t get replays of bad calls because it’s awkward to embarrass the officiating. Or when there’s something being disputed or something is going on behind the scenes and we can’t get real time explanation of WTF is happening.

This thread made me wonder if the Jazz could do a computer generated play by play and use Hot Rod's voice?
We’re not there yet, I don’t think a computer can read the game well and fast enough as an input to the machine-learned Hot Rod voice. You would also have to have whatever AI interpret the game as Hot Rod did and put it into his lingo.

In other words, mayyybe kind of impossible to do well. As it should be.

Would still be better than Boler, but yeah, the reality is it would make me sad.

AI announcing would be awful. AI in general is a pile of **** for most things, but I cant imagine if ever being capable of doing something as nuanced and artful as quality announcing. It would be like NBA 2K were you've heard everything over and over again.

FWIW, I rarely listen to games with sound. I think most announcers are distracting rather than augmentative.
