Seems inevitable he gets dealt with the Dame Achilles tear.

If the Jazz somehow land #1, can they make an asset package that doesn't include Cooper or Lauri to get Giannis?

I don't think we have the juice - I feel like we'd have to clean out too many of our assets. Houston looks most likely to me by kind of a lot?

Depends on if they want to retool or completely rebuild. Problem is if they want a total rebuild they might ask for Flagg. I’d be very fine giving them Lauri for Giannis

Just looking at the Bucks outgoing assets a little bit, they have traded or swapped each of their firsts through 2030 with no protections as far as I can tell, so they're in a tricky spot. I guess maybe take the best package you can get from Houston including all the phoenix picks, then just try to cobble together a team that can sell tickets? Yeesh.

It is too early. I`d rather trade Sexton, Collins and Clarkson for Lillard, and what they have left of picks to trade:
  • The option to either get their 2031 1st round pick or swap it with ours or Phoenix`s
  • The option to either swap their 2032 1st round pick with ours or get it outright if we decided to swap in 2031
Assuming Lillard will sit out the whole next season, we would be left with a squad consisting of Lauri + players on rookie deals.

The teams that own the rights to the Bucks picks will probably be first in line, too.

You could not get on the phone unless your bid comes with a top-shelf asset/player just to start.
I think the second line is the key. I suspect more than one team would be willing to give up blue chip prospects to get him. OKC could give up Jalen or Chet with the logic that they cant afford their team in the long term with Giannis, SGA and both of those two in the roster.

No. Certainly not one that can’t be beat by OKC who has assets coming out of their ears.
No doubt you are right, but I could see a world where OKC just wants to roll with what they have (especially if they win it all this year) and use their assets to help them retool the roster as it gets more expensive rather than go all in on two super-max players who take up most of their cap.

Here's a list of the picks that MIL owes: https://fanspo.com/nba/teams/Bucks/17/draft-picks

2025- BKN
2026 - Swap rights with NOP
2027 - Swap rights with NOP
2028 - swap rights with POR
2029 - POR or WAS based on 2028 results
2030- Swap rights with POR

This is the simplified version, click on the link for more details.

So if I'm Milwaukee I'm looking to deal with NOP or POR in a complete rebuild or someone else who can get me quality players, BUT only if Giannis asks out.
