Following Potential 2025 Draftees

The only team in the lottery that has never had the #1 pick is the Jazz. You could argue they have negative #1 picks considering the Magic Johnson fiasco.

The NBA ****ing owes us. Especially with the push-off/5-point swing fiasco. Especially considering the highest they’ve ever drafted is a pick they had to immediately trade (Dominique Wilkins). The Jazz have done everything on hard mode the entire time.

If part of the idea of the lottery to sometimes punish teams that don’t compete and aren’t competent while sometimes rewarding teams that do things the right way, name a franchise in the lottery with a better organizational track record for competence and competing.

I remember feeling for Booker how many here feel for and dismiss Tre. I’m starting to wonder if Tre isn’t a future multi time allstar.

This is both cool and sad at the same time. I will say though we would’ve had a number 1 pick but we sold it, and that was magic
New Orleans sold it, not Utah, so we are off the hook for that fiasco.

I may be wrong, but I believe Wilkins was another black player that didn't want to play in Utah and kinda forced Utah's hand.

They didn’t sell it. They signed a free agent from the Lakers (Gail Goodrich) that triggered owing a pick to LA.

(This is a cautionary tale about unintended consequences in policy; if you don’t design it well enough, it backfires. We should ponder this when we talk about flattening lottery odds.)
