I'm 99% sure it's 6 months, hence the big deal about him signing a day later to make sure he couldn't be traded by the deadline.
According to this if a player signs a super max they can't be traded for a year, so maybe that is how Locke got confused...
George vs Collier - Toughest one first. I went with George because I think it's easier for someone to improve their shot selection vs totally reworking their shot. I also think while Collier is a better passer, Keyonte is underrated as a passer. I do love Collier though...
Tshiebwe vs Potter...
Is this based on who you like better, who you think is the better player, who you think the jazz should trade/keep, or just whatever criteria you want?
I'm guessing their is a decently strong correlation between NCAA FTR and NBA FTR, but it does seem like one of those things that star players develop over time. Or maybe better said, is something that is developed that can take a starting level player to an all star level player.
Just like not all strengths are created equal, not all weaknesses are created equal. If people have more tolerances for certain weaknesses vs other, I don't have a problem with that.
Also, the nuances of the draft are what make it fun to discuss.
Tre and Fears are on different levels as scorers than Kas, so it probably evens out. I probably overrate Kas because I like his player type way more than the others. As an amateur draft analysis I'm fine with overrating the player types I like though.
I would probably say that Tre is in a...
Did you watch the full video? He's a limited offensive player (can only shoot/can't create advantages/limited in passing/playmaking) and AT BEST a passable defender (meaning he's likely going to be worse than that). That doesn't sound that exciting to me.
Like I said, it's nothing new...
8.3% doesn't seem right. What are you projecting the cap to be in his final year? 360 million? I'm seeing projections of 260 million, which would be about 12%.
It doesn't really change your point much, but just curious.
There are very few good centers in the next two drafts. It's probably too early on 2026, but I don't see many highly rated centers. There is a decent chance that Kessler is better than any center in the next two drafts.
I just went through the draft and made my best case against Kas for as many players as I could. I got to 11, and had to really stretch my imagination on a few. I think you have overcorrected.
Just thinking out loud:
If we keep Lauri then we probably want to start being competitive sooner than later, so locking in Kessler becomes more important, but getting him on a good deal also becomes more important.
If we trade Lauri it probably doesn't matter as much if we keep Kessler or how...
