Poeltl and Zubac are at about $20 million. I think that's probably the starting point from the Jazz standpoint. Kessler probably starts by asking for the full rookie max since so many of the starting level rookies have gotten that recently. I think they could meet in the middle at about 30/yr.
The first year is 38.7 then goes up.

I don't think Traore is small for a point guard. He actually looks like a jumbo guard, but I'm pretty sure it's just the league he plays in. We'll see where he measures, but looks to have really good length to me.
I think it's fair to say that him being a star is based on him being a...
I've never seen film of Traore (including the few full games and videos with makes and misses) where it looked like he was struggling to get to the rim, and while you could be correct, I don't like making those types of assumptions, I prefer to go off of what we can see. There is also so much...
Here are two interesting studies related to this topic: https://sites.dartmouth.edu/sportsanalytics/2022/04/12/is-youth-a-determining-factor-of-potential-in-todays-nba-draft/ and https://blog.sradjoker.cc/posts/nba-draft-age-1/
In general I prefer to not take Juniors/Seniors in the lottery...
It's honestly hard to say why Traore's 2FG% is low, because we can't watch the games. My impression from what I can watch is that he takes a lot of non restricted area 2s as a shot that is designed within their offense (if not designed, at least very acceptable). Traore beats his primary...
I personally like the idea of having a play finisher/high quality player for the young players to play with. It feels like trading away Collins/Sexton for a player that won't play next season should be enough to reach our goal of keeping the 2026 pick away from OKC.
For how closely I've followed Traore, people might think I'm a superfan/homer, but I actually don't like Traore for the Jazz. I think he is similar as a prospect to Collier, but Collier plays with more energy.
I still maintain that Fears and Traore are similar as draft prospects. Fears projects to be a much better shooter and Traore projects to be a much better passer. They both are able to get wherever they want on the court and both have similar defensive concerns. They were both asked to do too...
Yes, I would prefer a top 2-6 pick this year vs a 2031/2032 pick/pick swap, but those picks/swaps would be extremely valuable, and we aren't committing so much of our cap space in to future years.
All of the players you mentioned are expiring salary as well. I could see the Bucks liking the idea of opening up a max salary slot for 2026. They might be able to sell Giannis on the idea of remaining competitive in 2025 and then adding a star in 2026.
For some reason I thought that Dame had a lot more years left on his contract. He is owed $54 Million next year and has a PO the year after that.
This makes more sense than PG or Murray in my opinion.
We're also a month out until we know what guys are staying in the draft or going back to college.
I'm bored enough to look at draft stuff, but not super motivated until we know what pick we're going to have and who will actually be in the draft.
Look, Tre has a good argument for 3rd best prospect in the draft. I think he's really good. If the Jazz draft him, I'll hope for the best on the things he doesn't project to be good at.
We would have to do a bunch of follow up moves including trading for an NBA level point guard and ideally getting a 5 that can shoot. Maybe we have enough assets to make all of that happen, but then our cupbards are bare.
Here's a list of the picks that MIL owes: https://fanspo.com/nba/teams/Bucks/17/draft-picks
