Wolf is a much better help defender than Flip, but Wolf has a long way to go to be able to shoot like Flip. I also think Wolf is a tier above Flip as a play maker. I would prefer Wolf if he could shoot, but since I don't have a lot of confidence in that happening I would probably stick with...

I talked about him a lot during the year because he was maybe my favorite college basketball player. Even I have a hard time seeing how he is going to work in the NBA. I'm hoping he's just so good at basketball that he makes it work, but he'll need to go to the right situation to thrive. As...

I agree on the risk. He wasn't consist enough to be sure he can do the high level things he flashed. He's not athletic enough to fall back on a role if he isn't a high level shooter/ play maker. I disagree on the upside. I think he has a more likely high end (all star level) outcome than...

Agreed, I really need to deep dive in to Kas's defense. Watching it live has left me with mixed feelings on it. He'll be a better defender than Tre Johnson, is the only thing I'm certain of.

Absolutely. I wish he could either shoot or had a position in the NBA that I was confident he could defend, but I think he would be worth the risk at 21 for sure.

Collier can't hit a jump shot currently. It would be awesome if he could develop that part of his game and become our pg of the future, but I'm not making decisions on our top pick based on Collier. The Jazz need someone who can both shoot and pass. Kas might also just be at a different level...

The only way for them to end up at 6 is because 4 team behind them won the lottery. That would mean we didn't win the lottery either. If we win the lottery there are only 3 possible teams that could also win the lottery, meaning they would be at worst 5th.

Xavian Lee to Florida. I'll be interested to see how he does there. He was really fun to watch at Princeton https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/44706508/princeton-transfer-xaivian-lee-commits-new-champ-florida

It's perfectly reasonable to not like Kas, but I don't understand the position of need comment? The Jazz absolutely need what Kas theoretically can do.

You were 100% right about Bub over Cody. Bub still has a lot to work on though, it's not 100% clear that he will ever be an NBA starting level player.

I think Podz is a good medium outcome for Kas.

Kas is elite because of his ability to hit step back/off the dribble 3. If he can hit it in the NBA it opens up all the other cool playmaking he can do. I like De Larrea ok (I believe I was one of the first to bring him up in this thread), but Kas without the step back isn't quite as interesting.

Beal was extremely good at the start of the year. He had bought in to a defensive play maker role and was somehow thriving in that role and the Suns got off to a great start. I'm really not sure what happened, but you can kind of see it in his stats: October: 2.8stocks per game +/- of +0.3...

Solving For Tanking, We're smart, let's figure it out

I think where I've landed after all of the great suggestions is that draft picks are tied to cap space somehow. The players union would never let it happen, but I think teams should have options on how to build a team with the draft being one option, trades being an option, and free agency...

I liked Carrington ok out of the draft, but I think I prefer Collier to him as a PG prospect. It's very close though.

I just did a little film review (what I could find) for Boogie Fland. I continue to be very high on him and feel like he is being slept on. He is a better defender than I had remembered and one of the better screen navigators in this class. The risk is that most of his good play came...

I have him grouped with Fears and Traore at the back end of the lottery. They are all high potential players, but have some risk associated with them. With Jace, it's mostly about play making, he didn't show much at Michigan State. He's probably in the range where he is not in play for our...

    Let's go!!!

I believe if it doesn't convey next year it goes to nothing? Or is it seconds? Either way, them losing the pick for nothing could be bad. On the other hand OKC has so many good players and picks that gambling on one coming through is probably what they do.

No, but Booker wasn't a good comp for Booker when he was in college either. Part of the reason why I don't like comps is that it gives people an unrealistic expectation of who a player is or could become. A player comes in to the league as like 30% of who they are and the other ~ 70% is...

    Let's go!!!

There is a 0.6% chance if we end up bottom 5, 3.8% chance bottom 6, and 14.2% chance bottom 7. I'm feeling pretty comfortable if we get at least bottom 6.
