I don’t think don is an elite distributor, but judging him solely by his assist total is futile while he’s playing within this offense.
Ricky Rubio, the 3 seasons prior to Utah, averaged 9 apg. That dropped to about 5 and a half in 2 seasons with Utah. (Also about what Don is averaging)...
Nah, i'm proposing we dont pay **anyone** 46M unless they are those guys (which we wont get). And in this hypothetical you're not painting the full picture. Whiteside without Gobert, but not replacing Gobert with anything? Yeah we might be a little worse, but the Jazz did go 5-0 with Whiteside...
Just to keep the dialog alive

Player B) 17.4p | 16.6r | 2.5b | 25.1reb% | 6.0blk% | +9.4 net rtg
Who you taking? Keep in mind one of them is making 35 million, and 46M in a couple years (which, to be frank, is preventing the...
7th in the league in net rating too (Ahead of Gobert)
Him and Rudy are #2 and #3 in rebounding.
One costs 2.4M and the other costs 35M
Looking at this salary chart is so depressing. We are seriously going to be on the hook for paying 46M for a 34 year old Gobert?
When he’s engaged*, he gives you at least 90% of what Gobert gives you, while taking up only 1.2% of our cap%**
* he’s not always engaged
** Gobert takes up 24% of our cap%, and will take up far more than that in the coming seasons
Crazy thing is, Rudy Gobert has been negative in plus/minus in 7 of his last 9 games…
The last 4 have been
-27
-5
-15
And -12 tonight
While Whiteside was positive in 8 of his last 9…
The last 4 have been
+20
+10
+19
And +17 tonight
Donovan positive in 7 of last 9
Something interesting is...
Dame is close for me at least. He was quite dominant from 17-21 (28/7/5 over that span), and has 6 all nba selections (7 if you count the weird Covid season), including a first team selection. If his teams could have had better post season success he would be a no brainer.
That’s a reflection of Q’s offense more than anything else… hell Ricky Rubio had a career average of 8.3 assists per game at that point of his career and that dropped way down to 5 with the Jazz. Donovan is a pretty willing passer. That’s far from his biggest issue.
And just as the church used it’s tithing payers to gobble up $100 Billion in real estate assets, will Gobert use his to gobble up baskets or will he gobble up turnovers and awkward turnarounds?
I mean, the light has to get yellow at some point, right? the dude had 20 shots in 21 minutes last night. On the wrong night (we've had plenty), meaning if he's off, it's pretty hard to overcome that sort of volume and pace.
I’m out of market these days (Portland) so I just did the single team. I did vpn and got kicked off halfway through the season a few years back. I didn’t want to hassle with the vpn stuff
