I'm also on the train that Wizards should donate wins to those who are more likely to finish close to us than they are.
Catching them from 3 wins back with the way we have played recently... aint gonna happen.
If I ever said Keyonte is a better prospect than Collier I apoloogize. I do like Keyonte, but I'm beginning to see that Collier can become special.
He is a real two way player who is rapidly improving his offensive efficiency. Maybe his #1 HS prospect status was more legit than his college sample.
Yeah I get that Fox thought too much of himself and was hurting them. But Zach may play 30 minutes and that pushes others around in their rotation and he doesnt have experience in their system or playing with the other guys besides DDR.
Lakers scope to improve the team changed from looking 1-3 years ahead to now looking 1-7 years ahead. A guy like Kessler who helps them in the short term AND is also a long term prospect is much more valuable to them now.
So from where I'm looking from Ainge doesnt need to ease up at all.
Thats classic lottery blinder fallacy. There is no clinching any of the top 4 picks. Best you can "clinch" is 5th, if you are the Wizards.
I know its not your comment fwiw.
I think its fair to assume a deal like this doesnt happen because a GM just has an idea on how to improve the roster and then goes and executes it. Giving away a 25 year old MVP caliber talent is obviously either a long and painful discussion involving the owners among others, or then its a top...
Acting like the deal doesnt go down if we dont grab the freebies is naive. Also assuming DA even knew who was being traded is very questionnable.
Rob Pelinka and Danny Ainge obviously have a good working relationship, which is why Rob probably called Danny and asked whether he wants to...
I think I would be willing to bet against Luka's longevity. I dont think he will last a long time if he doesnt change a lot of things about his lifestyle.
However its a value driven business, and there were teams willing to give twice the value for him. AD may be one of the best fits, but I...
Be real. Trading away a 25 year old MVP caliber talent doesnt happen. Especially not without malcontent, trade request or something like legal issues. Also especially not when the dude is coming off a Finals run.
There is no "even trade math" here. Only way Luka trade is fair is if there was a...
Also interesting to see whether someone would try and get Silver to veto this deal sort of like what Stern did with Chris Paul to Lakers. "Basketball Reasons 2.0"
From what I gathered one of the leading voices to cause that veto back in the day was ironically Mark Cuban.
Or they push to get Kessler (who the Lakers have already courted) in hopes to win 1 more with Lebron.
Dont know if that would work but its a theoretical path at least since Kessler also has long term potential/synergy with Luka.
Also its sort of baffling how much money this trade will cost Luka.
He is no longer supermax eligible since he has been traded after his rookie contract AND he moves from zero tax state to the highest(?) tax state in the US (I read somewhere they got 13.3% state tax?).
Is Pelinka now gonna push for Kessler? Makes a lot of sense, seeing they just lost their defensive backbone and dont really need an offensively productive center no more.
