I don’t disagree, but I think there’s a decent chance that the Jazz will look at their only real option to bottom out and try to build through the draft by “potentially” getting franchise caliber players.
My guess is that next year will resemble 22/23 - fire sale in the offseason, and then...
Best case scenario would be for the Jazz to win, pushing Minnesota into the playoffs in and having something ******* crazy happen that knocks them out of the playoffs. But this scenario is only worth seeing play of if they stay in the top 2 picks.
I will say, it would be very satisfying on a...
I will say, that IF the Jazz lose to OKC tonight, it should give them enough of a buffer to not have to worry about what happens if they beat Minnesota. It basically locks them into the #2 spot. If winning that last game can potentially push the Timberwolves into the play-in games, it might now...
Yeah. The only difference is it increased the chance (slightly) that the Jazz end up at #6 instead of #5. I don’t think anything changes with which combinations you’re assigned and how that shakes out in the actual lottery.
So many of their games were won by 2 possessions or less. A few breaks here or there and it’s an entirely different season for them. Super frustrating as a Jazz fan. Can only hope the wheels fall completely off before they stop owing picks.
The next two games will likely decide Minnesota’s fate.
Everyone else who is tied with the TWolves is playing a bottom 10 team tonight. . .
Memphis vs. Charlotte
Golden State vs. Phoenix
LA Clippers vs. San Antonio
.
. . while the Timberwolves have the Bucks, who have been okay lately...
Yeah. And a bunch of them play each other here in the last 4/5 games. If Minnesota can drop a couple, it would go a long way towards securing a better spot for the Jazz pick.
They have Milwaukee and Memphis. They win both of those, and it’s pretty much over for the Jazz getting a decent 2nd...
Nobody asked this question, but is there a realistic guy out there you want the Jazz to get for next season?
It doesn’t have to necessarily make sense.
For me, I’d love to have them go sign Steven Adams. I think he’d be the perfect backup for Kessler at the 5.
I think he’s a 6th man type. I’m honestly not sure what Hardy plans to do with him, but that’s where I think he’ll make his biggest impact. I’m not judging any of these guys too harshly after the organization decided to start tanking in earnest at the trade deadline last season.
2nd round picks will likely be draft or stash or 2-way prospects. They won’t crack the top 15 of the roster.
I’d be very surprised if John Collins opts out, but it’s possible. If he does, I hope the Jazz let him walk. Nice guy and a solid player, but they shouldn’t double down on his next...
I’d be less concerned if there wasn’t clearly an effort by the front office and coaching staff to tank the past three seasons (post trade deadline in 22/23 & 23/24.)
