Probably dumb question. What is it that makes the John Collins trade not be official until July 6th? Is that true of all trades right now? Or does it have something to do with one of the components? Like Gay opted in to facilitate the trade but the opt in can't be official until July 6th or...

Well, looks like it's still deformed. But hopefully doesn't bother him too much. Hawks messed him over by playing him instead of bracing it.

You can get a decent look at his finger at 0:31 in this highlight video. Doesn't look perfect but seems reasonably ok. Actually I guess that is not last season but the season before (2021-2022). So that video was not relevant.

Something like...swelling and flexion is from ruptured tendon on top of the knuckle. Would need to be braced (fully extended) for quite a while to heal but doctor wasn't sure how Hawks were planning to treat it.
