Woj: Don to the Cavs for Markkanen, Agbaji, Sexton, three unprotected 1sts, two swaps, and a partridge in a pear tree.

Didn't like ANY of the Knicks players, not even RJ, glad Ainge went with the Cavs. Always liked Lauri's game, never really busted out like some projected, but glad he's on the Jazz now.

    Gobert to Minnesota

Took a year off watching the Jazz, already knowing how it would end, but this is exciting. I'd say bring on the full rebuild.

    Las Vegas Summer League thread

1.8 steals per game as well in summer league so far. Looking like a keeper.

    Should We Move Gobert?

This is why getting some lanky perimeter defenders would help I think. Longer arms in the passing lanes will be able to contest better, and intercept and deflect more kick out passes to waiting open 3 point shooters. DL and JZ would have to get VERY LUCKY to find a player on their hamstung...

    Should We Move Gobert?

Ingles was closer to his season performance than Gobert. Here is Gobert's series averages in points, rebounds, and blocks. In parenthesis is his season averages. He just wasn't effective. ppg: 12.5 (14.3) rpg: 11.7 (13.5) bpg: 1.2 (2.2) Here is his game by game +/- -24 -4 -1 -16 +14 +5 Not...

    Should We Move Gobert?

The reoccurring theme I see here is "let's just get a guy who can play in small ball situations". At the time of the signing, the Jazz knew every team in the league can potentially play 5 out small ball. So what else does that make it other than a bad signing. Rudy Gobert is making 40 million...

    Charlottesville

Fields would have been convicted of murder under the new law. His vitriolic social media posts were enough to prove intent. He wasn't convicted of manslaughter, he was convicted of murder.

    Charlottesville

As usual, worded out of context. Why didn't you include this: House Bill 1674 also states that drivers cannot be held criminally or civilly liable for killing or injuring a protestor if they are "fleeing from a riot," and there is "reasonable belief" that they are in danger. Both must be true...

    Derek Chauvin Murder Trial

Who would be on this "review board"? Who could fairly grade them without having done this incredibly difficult job?

    Derek Chauvin Murder Trial

I shouldn't have worded it that way. Anyways though, to the broader point, Maxine Waters lives in a rich, gated community in a 4.5 million home with armed guards. She is completely out of touch and impervious to the mayhem on the streets she causes rattling off statements like this. This was the...

    Colorado Shooting

The Dems ended any chance of tighter gun restrictions when they decided to start promoting riots. They wanted a 3rd world country, and will have it soon.

Game Thread Apr 17, 2021 02:30PM MT: Jazz at Lakers

This game is a good example of where big market coat tail riders like Drummond tip the scale in their favor. A quality starting center earning 800k, we have Juwan Morgan at nearly double the pay, 1.5m. The playing field is not level.

What Do Jazz Fans Feel Their Chances Are Against The Nets?

If the Jazz made it to the finals it means we beat one of the LA 's in a 7 game series, and probably took out a Denver or Phoenix along the way. If the Nets cruised through Milwaukee and Philly the Jazz chances are pretty slim. If they were 6 and 7 games series, I'd give the Jazz a decent...

Voter Suppression and Why The Republicans Love It So Much?

Lower tax rates = more investment in the US vs abroad = jobs! It was starting to work. Unemployment was around 3.5% (although labor participation rate still weak). https://abcnews.go.com/Business/unemployment-rate-falls-lowest-level-50-years/story?id=66058946 Did too many companies use the money...

Tucker Carlson’s Rhetoric and White Replacement Theory

Would you agree we shouldn't be importing so much with a near all time low labor participation rate of 61 %, and college graduates working as taxi drivers and baristas.

Voter Suppression and Why The Republicans Love It So Much?

There are studies that have went both ways on voter ID. https://theconversation.com/voter-id-laws-dont-seem-to-suppress-minority-votes-despite-what-many-claim-114349 We are getting far off base my original comment in this thread though, which is private entities (businesses) should not be...

Tucker Carlson’s Rhetoric and White Replacement Theory

The exports don't help much. Take Mexico for instance, countless US jobs are already over there and we have a yearly 100 billion trade imbalance! Wonderful. You're only solution cannot be "lets keep printing money and give it away", that's all I'm hearing.

That's what I'm saying. We can agree on some things and disagree on some others. That's healthy.

    Derek Chauvin Murder Trial

You're correct in determining causation his record will have zero effect/influence. It will effect the length of sentence if convicted (12.5 years on 2nd degree with no priors vs up to 40 years with priors)
