Made some good movies because of their experiences. Like Jimmy Stewart in 'The Spirit of St. Louise' for example. His aviation experience made him that much more authentic.

Your right.. they didn't let him fly the F-18 or touch the controls... As an aviator I'm sure it took him a minute to get over that, SO CLOSE!. He was the only actor in the film that did a carrier launch though.
