    2024 NBA Draft Mega Thread

Watching more Dalton Knecht again. The more I see of him, the more I think he should be "our guy" and if there's a chance to move into the top 3-5 for him, we should do it. Defense is the question mark but he's a strong kid with a great frame/good length. I think he'll get there with the right...

You mean the ICD that was implanted under his rib cage? Obviously, his medical records will need to be cleared by anyone who drafts him. But his athleticism/relentlessness gave St. Mary's and Alabama fits.

Kid is a special athlete - very intriguing in the late 1st/2nd round. Fits our "positional size" mantra perfectly.

    Offseason Plan + Lauri Thread

Thanks all. I can make a good argument for sucking next year. Two more years of top 8 finishes would be tough to stomach. Still wish our pick had conveyed this year, but I digress.

    Offseason Plan + Lauri Thread

Silly question - but our pick is equally protected 1-10 in 2025, right? I.e., the pick not conveying this year doesn't trigger a guarantee for the pick to convey next year? Obviously a massive consideration WRT the 2025 tank brigade.

Sarr would excite me as a piece to build around. #2 is where I start to get pretty meh. Would also be a big-time trade chip if we did land #1 and a top tier, cornerstone piece became available. IMO that's the best outcome.

Across 3 seasons, 82 professional games, ~1500 minutes and 190 3PA, he's shooting 47.6% from the floor and 40.7% from 3. I'm not overly concerned about his efficiency/3 point ability. He does need to get better from the foul line, and get to the foul line more.

I really struggled with #2. IMO, Sarr is my clear #1 and I don't see that changing. There's probably 5-6 guys you could make a good case for at #2. Sticking with Risacher for now.

That’s fair. I’m just busing your balls. These “lists” are silly anyways.

Big board as for 4/10/24. Probably the hardest one I've ever done and really hard to get past 20 so I'm not even going to try. Really reminded me just how much I hate this draft - can't remember any draft where it was less obvious anyone was worthy of a top 3 pick. Given that, I've generally...

Is Ryan buying the Coyotes to distract us from how bad the Jazz will be next year?

I hope we can make a significant/competitive move this offseason, but trading Lauri/JC/Sexton for a haul and entering "full-tank" mode for 2025 is exciting in a different way. Of course, that almost completely depends on whether or not our pick conveys this draft (still hope it does - always...

True, and to that end I think Rudy should be on that list. Nobody can convince me he impacts winning less than Brandon Ingram. I'd still have Edwards above Brunson, AD, and Booker at minimum.

Anthony Edwards at #14 of any list of best players in the NBA is laughable.

26% chance of a top 4 pick. Let’s ride. Would be hilarious if we dropped to #10 after the most shameless tank job I could imagine.
